The dictionary meaning of motherhood says the state of being a mother. Mother symbolizes love, acceptance, forgiveness. Motherhood resonates with Reiki. Motherhood has its own challenges. It is surrounded by family care, child’s care, and self-care. This needs to be rearranged, it should start as self-care, child’s care, and family care.
Daily Reiki practice is one of the best ways of self-care. Self-Reiki is reminding that I am loved, I am cared, I am nourished, I am safe and supported. The chores include management of time, work and maintaining the daily routine. In time management, taking out time for self becomes difficult. Reiki is a powerful tool. Reiki is beyond hands-on practice.
Mothers can include self-Reiki through these ways.
- In the morning as soon as one wakes up
- Remember and say the Reiki principles.
- Join your hands, say the Reiki prayer. (as taught by your Reiki Master)
- After Reiki prayer, enclose self in a white colored pyramid with CKR at the top of the pyramid. While doing this set an intention that you are guided and protected by Reiki. Everything comes to you in the form of blessing. Enclose your child, family, own house, neighborhood, extended family and planet earth in the white pyramid with CKR at the top.
- Receive Reiki blessings for self, child, and family.
- Do the energy ball exercise.
- During the day, for any task, breathe the Reiki call, let yourself be guided.
- While sleeping, call Reiki, be guided to place hands on your body parts. Relax. Have a sound sleep.
Energy ball exercise
- Place both the hands at a 1foot distance in front of your body, with palms facing each other.
- Imagine a ball between the palms.
- Bring both the hands near to each other about 8 inches apart and as you feel guided. But should not be joining the palms. Bring both hands back to the original position. Repeat these 8 times.
- Bring the palms back to the original position.
- Rotate the right palm clockwise six times and the left palm anti-clockwise six times.
- Place the ball in both palms as if holding the ball. Raise your hands up.
- Call in Reiki and request Reiki to charge the ball.
- Draw HSZN and say HSZN three times, draw SHK and say SHK three times, then draw CKR and say CKR three times, on the ball.
- Place slowly the ball on the Crown chakra and all over the body.
- Be thankful and grateful to Reiki.
Remember, as one takes up all the task during the day, practicing self-Reiki helps to be grateful for self, tasks handled and everything that surrounds us.
