Reiki Homes of Love and Light

Article by Haripriya Suraj, Reiki Master

As Reiki practitioners, we have the capacity to raise the vibration of the one place that many of us love – home.

Your Reiki practice helps your home, irrespective of whether others in your home practise Reiki or not. We are all connected and when we do something positive, it has an impact on everyone around us. Similarly, when those living with us do something positive like thinking loving thoughts, praying, meditating etc, it impacts us and our entire home.

As we heal ourselves, our vibration becomes higher and lighter. We become calmer, more balanced, relaxed and aware. This does not mean that we never have bad days. As humans, we all have bad days every once in a while, but even when we do, we cope better or snap out of it faster, thereby preserving our precious energy.

Just by practising Reiki at home, we invite positive and loving energy into our space. So, that’s one more reason for us to practise Reiki every day! Reiki is not limited to us and our tiny little world. It expands outward to impact others and the first place to feel this impact is our home. If you are regular with practice, you may find visitors commenting that your home has a lovely feel to it. Your Reiki practice is certainly one contributing factor to the energy of your home.

Apart from regular Reiki practice, here are some other ways that we can raise the vibration of our homes and transform them into warm cocoons of love and light-

1. Clutter Free

Homes that are free of clutter tend to have a lighter vibration than homes that are full of stuff, especially stuff that is never used. It would serve us well to discard anything that we have not been using in a while. Donating such things to people/organisations that will find them useful or sending them in for recycling will help us de-clutter our homes. If you have a problem giving away stuff, work specifically with the mental-emotional symbol for a few days and request Reiki to help heal the inability to discard non-essential things.

2. Cleanliness and Hygiene

Maintaining basic hygiene can help raise the vibration of our homes. We don’t have to turn into neat freaks but we can do the bare minimum that is necessary to have clean floors, hygienic kitchens, bathrooms and toilets and a reasonably clean home. This can be quite a challenge for families with young children as such homes tend to mess up faster. But doing the best we can is good enough. Having an uncluttered house also makes it easier to maintain hygiene.

3. Ventilation

Good ventilation allows energy to flow freely through the house. Depending on the climatic conditions you live in, open your windows whenever the weather permits it and allow fresh air to circulate inside your home. It may be easier to do this more often if you have meshed windows that allow for safety as well as ventilation.

4. Weekly Energy Cleanse

Thoroughly cleansing our homes once a week with incense or sage can do wonders for its energy. Opening all closets and cabinets and allowing the smoke of the incense to flow into every nook and corner of our homes can give it a through cleanse. For added power, remember to draw the power symbol on your incense before you begin. End the cleansing session by drawing a large power symbol over your home, requesting that the energy is kept clean and pure for the next one week.

5. Symbol Energy

Another way to get Reiki flowing into different areas of your home would be to draw the Reiki symbols wherever you feel guided to- on walls, shelves, sofas, chairs, curtains, windows, doors, beds, pillows, utensils and just about any other object or space. The power symbol alone works great but do feel free to draw the other symbols if you feel guided to.

6. Higher Beings

Inviting higher energies into your space is another way to charge your home with positive energy. Working regularly with Reiki guides, angels, archangels and ascended masters will convert your home into a loving space of joy, peace and light.

7. Plants

Plants and trees help raise the vibration of any space. If you have a garden that is well nurtured, it will automatically raise the vibration of your entire home. Even if you do not have space for a garden, having a few potted plants in your balcony or any other suitable area can make a positive difference to your home.
