How To Do Pendulum Dowsing

Pendulum Dowsing is the use of a weighted object such as some metal or a crystal that you have been using often on a string or chain, to get an answer, usually in a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ format. Hence, the questions asked need to be unambiguous and with a serious and responsible manner.

A common question among clients who want to or already perform pendulum dowsing can be which the right stone is to perform the action?

The best way to choose then is intuitively, as most people say. As the word suggests, it is better to dowse for them, and let your mind control your actions while picking the stone to perform the most beneficial pendulum dowsing.

While all the stones in your crystal toolkit can potentially help you, selecting the right crystal is crucial if you want to obtain the most benefit you can from such a process. Some crystals tend to have a finer vibration than others when used, in sync with the Earth and its own vibrations, working from either the etheric or karmic blueprint to adjust at the physical level, while other stones operate more subtly so as to bring out the underlying causes of the question or problem posed to the surface, and in this situation, you would often find the need to use a series of crystals.

Sometimes my clients may find that they are drawn to a particular stone instinctively and it could even be one that they already own in their collection, and if this is the case, I always recommend they should definitely give it a try.

While purchasing a crystal, you can also use the same pendulum dowsing or finger dowsing to find the perfect match of stone for you, or just let your hand find the first one by “instinct”, and purchase that one. All the methods mentioned use the ability of your intuitive body-mind connection to tune into subtly variations and to influence your hands.

A few things that are crucial in this process would be: A focused mind, trust in your process and doing carefully worded unambiguous questions, and a clear intent. These will support your dowsing to make your healing an easier process.

The phrase “unambiguous questions” has been repetitive. How would you word such a question? Framing your question with defined intent and care if you are to achieve the most beneficial result. Unambiguous means a question that is clear and is capable of a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer. They also need to be asked with serious intent, as an irresponsible and easy-going approach with a frivolous question is unlikely to reveal any answer that is beneficial to you or anyone else. Apart from this, this could also harm you because these crystals are powerful tools that pick up and amplify your thoughts, and a device with such power into your mind must be treated with respect. You must take time and prepare yourself before you ask a question, and this means you must be alone with your thoughts before you ask your crystal a question. You need to be extremely precise and specific as well. If it is a long question that has parts, you must wait at every part for a response from the crystal in order to reap the full benefits of this pendulum dowsing session.

In the main essence of this article, you need to know how exactly to pendulum dowse.

• Hold your pendulum between the thumb and forefinger of your dominant or hand of your choice, with a distance equal to your hand’s breadth of chain hanging above the pendulum, and wrap the remaining chain around your fingers so that it does not obstruct the process of dowsing.
• It is your own responsibility to ascertain which is a ‘yes’ response and which is a ‘no’ response. You might find that a clockwise directional rotation to be a ‘yes’ answer while someone else’s ‘yes’ answer could just be an anticlockwise rotation.
• A wobble of the pendulum can indicate a ‘maybe’, and hence you have to frame your question more specifically for a specific answer which is not a ‘maybe’.
• You can find your ‘yes’ and ‘no’ directions by asking questions that you already know the answer for, for instance, you can say, “Is my name [your name]”, and whichever direction the pendulum swings in, will be a ‘yes’ answer for you. This must be done by holding the pendulum above your knee.
• You can also program your pendulum to swing a certain way.

Now that you know how to pendulum dowse, you can use it to buy your perfect crystal. Hold the pendulum in your most receptive hand, and put the forefinger of your other hand on the condition of issue of crystals. Slowly run your finger along the list of possible crystals, noting whether you get a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ response. Check the whole list of which one had the strongest ‘yes’ response to find the best match for you.
