Justine Melton is a Reiki Master/Teacher and an Intuitive Counselor. Reiki came into her life and changed it in amazing ways. It is her passion now to bring Reiki to others and help them to heal in a holistic way. Justine is lucky enough to be an Empath, Clairaudient, Clairsentient, and Clairvoyant. She is able to use these gifts with Reiki if asked to give extra messages during a session for the client’s highest good.
1. How did Reiki find you?
Reiki found me when I contacted a woman about doing a basic home cleansing for me. She used Reiki to cleanse my home and the results were dramatic. I had tried many things to cleanse my home before her and nothing had worked. After meeting her she recommended that I learn Reiki and give it a try. I liked everything about her and the positive energy she brought to everyone and everything she touched. I also liked how fear had no place in her life. After, my first Reiki session with her I was hooked. I started with Reiki I and worked my way up to Reiki Master. I truly believe that Reiki finds you and not the other way around. It seems to always come about when a big life transition is on the way or needed. It also helped me make dramatic changes in my life and have the courage to make new starts in just about every area.
2. What is your favorite Reiki symbol and why?
My favorite Reiki symbol is the Master Symbol. I love how it incorporates all of the Reiki symbols in one. If you are not sure of what symbol to use on someone it makes it easy in that Reiki is all knowing and will give them exactly what is needed. With that being said I still have a special place in my heart for the emotional healing symbol Sei He Ki. I’ve seen it work wonders on countless people. I don’t think it comes as a huge surprise as your emotions are directly related to your state of mind. I found that it seems to bring the root of whatever problem is happening to the surface within a week’s time. It is then up to the person whether to do the hard work and confront their issues in order to being a path to healing.
3. What do you think about Angels, Crystals?
I love anything having to do with Angels and Crystals. I believe that Angels want to help us in any way they can. Reiki allows someone to center themselves easily and open up to messages from the divine. Angels love to help heal people. They can show you exactly what is wrong with someone and aide you in healing them. Sometimes angels show me what crystals to use. I believe that crystals are like little healing gifts from the Earth. They are so powerful and similar to Reiki in that they aide you no matter what your religious beliefs are. Angels, Crystals, and Reiki combined can have dramatic healing effects. Rose Quartz and Clear Quartz are my personal favorite crystals.
4. What do you think of distant attunements? Do they work?
I believe that distant attunements are real and that they work. Reiki is all knowing. Therefore I believe that if you are attuned with the right intentions behind it no matter what the process you are still in fact attuned. I believe that it is important no matter if you are taking lessons and being attuned distantly or in person that you do a little research and go with your gut feeling. Do you feel that it is the right program for you? Do you feel uneasy at all? Do you feel a connection with your Reiki teacher? Reiki is an amazing healing gift that should be treasured. The program you are in should celebrate Reiki and help you be able to share it with others.
5. Can you share one of your most amazing Reiki experiences?
I have so many positive Reiki experiences that it is hard to just pick one! One of the most amazing Reiki experiences for me was when I suddenly realized what the stabbing pain in my heart was that I would suddenly get at times. Whenever I would do Reiki on someone or tune in and talk to someone about their troubles I would sometimes get a stabbing feeling in my heart and then feel my heart drop. It really scared me at first until I realized that it was my sign that the person had a broken heart. I love that Reiki is able to work in miraculous ways with the practitioner to bring about the best healing possible. I am also amazed by its abilities to fight negativity in all forms and its ability to help you find any lost object.
6. How do you see Reiki 50 years from now?
I feel that alternative healing therapies in all forms are gaining in popularity. More and more people are seeing the benefits and seeking them out. I see Reiki being more common place which is a great thing. It means more positive light going out to everyone and the world on a daily basis.
7. If you could give just one piece of advice to a new practitioner, what would it be?
My one piece of advice to a new practitioner would be to trust yourself. Everyone practices Reiki a little differently and everyone has their own special gifts that they have to offer. If you feel guided to do something differently give it a try. Trust the information you are receiving and don’t be scared to try new things. I like to think of Reiki as a beacon of light sending positive energy to anything in need of healing. Why put a limit on how it is used? Trust yourself and allow Reiki to turn you into the practitioner the world needs.
