Reiki Has Compound Effect. The Importance of Daily Practice

Articles

5 May 2013

Practicing Reiki is like building a castle (or, if castles aren’t your thing, a fortress, a Colosseum, a pyramid, or other structure – but we’ll stick to the castle in this article). How come? you may ask. What does the castle have to do with anything?

When you practice Reiki for the first time, you start digging the foundation. You take the first shovel of dirt out. The next day, if you don’t show up at the construction site (i.e. you don’t practice), the wind, rain, and wild animals will cover the small hole you managed to dig. On the other hand, if you do show up, you’ll get one more shovel of dirt out of the foundation. Maybe even two, because you’ve learned how to do it better.

If you don’t show up the second day, the third day (or whenever you get started again) you’ll start from scratch, and take one shovel of dirt out. On the other hand, if you do show up the second day, and the third day too, then in the third day you might even manage to take out three, maybe even five shovels of dirt, on top of the previous work, making for a nice little ditch :).

At first, a small pause in practice can set you back. But as you practice more and more, your foundation is more and more clear and it’s not so easy for it to get covered. You build on top of what you already built. And soon, the foundation is finished and you can start building the actual walls and floors.

By this stage, if you take a break for a day or two, it will probably not have such a big impact, and you’ll be able to pick up where you left. But if you take a longer break, spiders start building webs inside your castle, moss starts building up, so you have a harder time when you do get back to practice. And if you take an even longer break, your castle will be a ruin when you come back and you’ll have to start from scratch again.

Another analogy is to having clogged up energy channels. “Flushing” them daily with a good dose of Reiki will keep them (and you) in good shape. But if you take a break, you’ll find that “stuff” builds up in the channels and you have a harder time channelling. As you do practice though, the stuff gets cleared away, and if you keep at it, your channels will be shiny and new 🙂 in no time. Make free use of Cho Ku Rei whilst cleaning up ;).

It’s easier, and a lot more effective, to practice Reiki daily, than it is to practice e.g. every other day. The effect of each healing session increases as you build your skill and clear your energy channels.

This is a really great concept. Doing daily activities really trains the mind to do things out of habits even when you dont want to do them..Guess it would be like going to work everyday even if you dont want to, but your body forces itself up and to do the work related activities usually even when you are too tired to do them.

If you take your self-healing lying down, there are two times everyday that you are guaranteed to be lying down.

1] when you go to bed at night.
2] when you awake in the morning.

1] If possible go to bed an hour earlier to do your self-healing.
    Or
2] Set your alarm an hour earlier to do your self-healing before you ‘have’ to get up.

Choose the option that best suits your schedule.

This way, like brushing your teeth, you’ll never miss a day! ..dx
