As practitioners of the healing arts, we are exposed to a variety of individuals from all walks of life. Sometimes, we have to learn how to wind down and relax, as we deal with an ever-growing need to be present for those who need us. It is important to draw a line and take time to ourselves. Sometimes, we may be exposed to persons who take our healing arts for granted or may ask for too much.
Here are 3 steps to deal with burn out.
1. Take a Bath/warm shower
Take a relaxing bath, wind-down and let your mind drift. Feel free to use crystals such as rose quartz and amethyst which aids your heart and third eye chakras. Additionally, you can include obsidian, a crystal for the root chakra which aids in grounding.
A relaxing bath or warm shower will enable your body to relax. After all, our muscles hold tension when we are stressed. By releasing, we allow our minds to calm and feel more focused and concentrated altogether.
- Place the crystals in your tub or shower.
- Before you begin, set your intention on the crystals.
- Use the Reiki symbols to promote peace and harmony.
- Close your eyes and bathe in the sensations of peace and love.
- If you use a bathtub, add relaxing scents like lavender or bergamot (this can be found in essential oils.) Kindly note to dilute the amount in your tub before use as essential oils consist of strong, undiluted components
2. Breathing Exercises
Breathing is a natural part of our system. By taking, deep even breaths, this helps to lower your blood pressure and allows your body to stay calm.
It is also the first part of meditation. Breathing is the start of our ki or life energy that is used to aid our Reiki sessions.
- Take deep even breaths and count to five before letting go.
- Repeat this for five time or more if you feel called to.
- Focus on letting your breath move through your seven chakras from crown to root.
3. Listening to Music
Music, particularly classical and meditation music carries a frequency is of a high vibration.
By putting in a calming tune, focus on shifting your thoughts to a white empty space. This will help both your mind and body to relax. If you feel called, use a Reiki symbol or the mental/emotional symbol to deal with burn out. We are only human and have good and bad days. Don’t take it too hard on yourself and always learn to trust in the process.
Remember that healing is a process that is filled with both joy and hardships. There will be a balance in the time to come.
I wish you all the best in your journey.
