Have you ever befriended with yourself? If your answer is yes, great. If you haven’t yet, you are not too late. You can begin it now at this moment. You might now be asking questions like “What am I going to gain by befriending with myself? How Can I do it?”
Let me share my experiences with you.
When you become your own friend, you start liking yourself easily. You would be able to overlook your flaws without great difficulty as you are your own friend. Then you are likely to be more optimistic and comfortable with your life. What else more you benefit from befriending with yourself. Perhaps you show kindness, respect, honesty, forgiveness toward you.
Now I am happy to share with you some of the strategies I have used to be my own caring and loving friend. As a practitioner of Reiki and Qigong, I did it for around 21 days in a row.
- When I did for the very first time, I start paying attention to my energy levels at different times of a day and I did find out when is it refreshed and depleted. I also took mindful breathing. I really felt the air is entering my nostrils, it passing through my chest and the stomach is expanding.
- Then during everyday self-healing time, I set an intention for making friendship with my own self. I called help from my Spiritual guide, Archangels, and Reiki energy.
- I visualized pink glowing light is covering me and then I drew Usui distant symbol followed by the Power symbol and the Karuna Reiki® symbols Harth, Iava, Om, Shanti then again Power symbol. Every day 10 minutes of self-Reiki with Om Shanti chanting is ideal to achieve your goal. This is what I did.
- Apart from that, I made a Reiki energy ball and send it to my intention daily. For making Reiki energy ball I just kept my hands in the prayer position and moved it to opposite direction very slowly imagining a ball is formed in between hands. I infused it with Reiki Distant symbol and Power symbol by visualization and chanting of symbol names.
I had been doing it for 21 days and it helped me to connect with myself and be my own caring and loving friend. It helped me to feel more enthusiastic about who I am. I could eventually find out my unnoticed talents and strength and I’m really thankful to be me.
At the end of this process, you can list things you like about yourself. Just before listing connect with yourself by visualizing or drawing the distant symbol and few mindful breathings.
