In 2015, When I was on a break from my work I started teaching Reiki practices from home. I met so many women who were disconnected from their soul’s purpose and I did a grounding/earthing meditation and combine it with a chakra meditation that helped them connect to mother earth and father of the heavens and they would share their personal experiences after the same. Some of them even told me that they were able to see their ancestors’ home.
From here onwards, I started researching how Reiki is connected to one’s lineage or Roots? I understood that it releases the blocks in our aura then from our chakras and thereby cleanses the energy body and from there penetrates into the physical body for healing a particular circumstance or illness.
I read a lot of books related to lineage, Roots, Shamanic healing practices and then I could connect the dots – since we are spiritual beings in a human body, we carry our past-life or current life patterns and energy blocks and when we attempt to connect to the Universal Spiritual energy it helps to unlock anything from the soul energy level or spiritual energy level that is hindering the reconnection to the source. That’s how Shamans connected to the nature’s energy through earth and sky elements and carried out healing practices that healed people of their deadly illnesses, which could not be traced or understood scientifically. It sounded miraculous but the secret was in the reconnection to the groundedness – roots where were born or where that illness or block was first formed.
In Reiki Level 1 also when we do the chakra meditation, we follow Asian method, i.e. the focus or energy chord gets connected first to our Roots and then we move our energy upwards to the Crown chakra. The westerners start from Crown to Root. Indian ancient wisdom taught us to get grounded in spirituality, by connecting to the energy of the Divine Goddess symbolized by Earth, Moon, all forms of goddesses and their divine powers to the energy of the Divine father God symbolized by Sun, Rains, and all other forms of God’s powers.
After about a year of teaching Reiki I was called to visit my hometown in Mumbai where I visited the colony where I was born and intuitively I was led to the tree where I used to take shelter during summer or when it was too hot and used to play all day and connect to all of nature so beautifully and the nurturing environment as second home. 
As you can see how green and fresh the environment is, this used to be my childhood home and suddenly when I shifted to another place within Mumbai with my parents (too young to understand why), I couldn’t put an expression to my feelings but I was definitely feeling traumatic of being disconnected or separated from my grandmother and the trees. There was a special affinity towards a big banyan tree which stood beside our apartment – I went there and spoke to the tree, apologized for not bidding her goodbye after 20 years of separation! And I felt a sudden energy pull from the tree and it was as though she forgave me and told me it was ok and asked me to take a few pebbles from her roots that could serve as a reminder of her loving energy and nurturing presence with me all the time.
I did that and I felt a surge of satisfaction and calmness entering my spirit. I brought back those memories and the pebbles and still hold them in my handbag.
This is how truly Reiki plays a role in connecting us back to our Earth Goddess or roots and heals the traumas linked to the past or root cause of what caused the blocks in the first place. I am deeply humbled by this experience and was urged to share it here with all of you – to just remind all of you next time you visit your ancestral or hometown – do look around and hear or feel what message mother nature is conveying to you? And follow that intuition because its linked to your soul’s healing process and this is the true surrender attitude to Reiki or Universal Energy.
