The Importance and Influence of a Well Prepared Reiki Practitioner

Articles

24 Apr 2018

What is the importance of a well prepared Reiki practitioner in the implementation of good practices, sound learning as well as good relationship in Society?

The preparation of a Reiki practitioner is of utmost importance. Without a solid theoretical and practical background, the Reiki Practitioner will not be helping people in the proper way either during a treatment or during a training course. Also, and it is important to consider that, the lack of preparation can, unnecessarily, put a Reiki practitioner at risk.

A key aspect, which for me is fundamental, is that the practitioner, in spite of any excellent results obtained, and sound and deep knowledge of Reiki he possesses, does not consider himself as a “star”. He/she must be fully aware that she/he is merely a channel, the tool used by the Guides and the Masters in this earthy plan, and nothing else more than that.

The eventual healing of a patient/client is a direct result of a Higher Intervention depending totally on his merits and not on the practitioner’s capabilities.

Nevertheless, and that is easy to understand that, the quality of the practitioner, as a channel, is very important and an easy comparison can be made with an irrigation channel. If the irrigation channel is free of debris, the water will flow smoothly and in accordance with the projected flows, the same applying to the practitioner’s channel, if the channel is clean, the energy will run easily, otherwise, if the channel is full of energy garbage, the energy flow will not be so good and the energy may, eventually, not flow at all.

Bearing in mind that Reiki is an art, nothing is definite, there are several ways to achieve the same result – the wellbeing and equilibrium of the patient/client.

Good knowledge of the theory and keeping up to date with developments in Reiki practice is fundamental. If the Reiki practitioner is well informed, he will be in position to evaluate/assess the advantages of a given technique in relation to another one or, eventually, develop his own technique and, if so, there is absolutely no problem about that provided that he is honest in the way he does so.

In what concerns teaching/training, there are several aspects to bear in mind, namely what is really important to teach right from the beginning, and, the way to do so in order to achieve the objectives established. Improper training can be a serious problem and can expose pupils to unnecessary risk.

For me, the most important aspect in Reiki (as already mentioned in previous articles) is Protection (and grounding – as a part of protection process). The lack of a good protection/grounding can put us, unnecessarily, at risk and this issue is, quite often, improperly addressed.

The lack of knowledge/adequate training Is a dangerous thing. Unfortunately, I’ve met Masters that never had heard about Byosen (scan), others that were using improper protection techniques and also others that refused to treat third parties because there were exhausted after the treatment and/or even swept during it.

The above examples show, in my opinion, that there is a serious problem in what concerns the quality of several teaching/training courses available. There are too many courses that are good for nothing. Training should be regarded as a very serious matter due to the impact it can have on our health and in the capability to treat others adequately.

There is quite an important amount of theory to be transmitted and practice is essential, so you will certainly agree that in a 4 hours training course for Level I, little will be taught and practice will most probably be out of scope.

In a training course, in addition to the theoretical and practical aspects to be addressed, one of the main issues to consider is (in my opinion) the transmission of the knowledge acquired, by the Master, during his professional activity, as there is very much to learn with clients and also with pupils.

Bearing in mind the above, that’s why I do not recommend people to attend training courses with a Master that has no “hands on” experience.

Reiki is not only theory and treatment sequences/methods, it reaches much farther than that and if the Reiki Master is well informed and fully aware of what he is doing, he will be doing a good job, on the contrary, he is neither being good to his pupils nor to himself and certainly not for Reiki.

In what concerns the importance of a Reiki Practitioner in establishing/implementing good relationships in Society, I dare say that a Reiki Practitioner is a stabilizing agent in Society as he must have (at least he should have) as guidelines/orienting principles the Gokai and, one of them says “I will be kind to all living beings”.

If the Reiki Practitioner lives according to the Gokai (or makes a real effort to live in accordance with) everything around him should be filled with harmony, light, and Love.

Blessings
