In my last article, I wrote about cleaning your home with Reiki. Today I will share with you a way to cleanse yourself using Reiki. It is another favorite way of mine to use Reiki, and a wonderful way to pamper yourself from time to time.
Once a week, and also for special occasions such as Full Moon and New Moon rituals, I take a special detoxifying Reiki bath.
1. First, I clean the bathtub beforehand, because I feel that the energies flow better in a clean environment.
2. Then, I send Reiki to the entire bathroom and draw the Cho Ku Rei on the bathtub. I state my intention of cleansing myself physically and spiritually.
3. Next, I begin filling the tub with water. As I do this, I send Reiki to the bathwater. Depending on my intuition and energy level that day, I may add Epsom salt, sea salt, crystals, herbs or essential oils (diluted in a carrier oil) to the bath as well. I send Reiki to each individual component, as well as once more before stepping into the tub. A general detoxifying bath would be as follows:
- 1 cup Epsom or Sea Salt (feel free to use more or less, but no more than 2 cups). Salt pulls impurities out of the skin. Your skin is the largest detoxifying organ of your body so this is a great way to release toxins.
- A small cloth bag with an Amethyst and a Clear Quartz stone. Amethyst is a wonderful healing stone, being able to calm your mind and boost your connection to the Divine. Clear Quartz is an all purpose healer and boosts the energy of any other stone that it is placed with. (You can use other crystals; Rose Quartz is great for a loving boost, Citrine speeds up manifestation, Peridot is great for an energy boost. However, be careful with your choices. If you are unfamiliar with any stone, it would be best to not use it. Some crystals get damaged in water, and some stones contain toxic minerals.)
- 10-15 drops of Lavender essential oil diluted in 1 mL of coconut oil. (You may use any essential oils you wish, Lavender is one of my personal favorites for a bath because it is calming and relaxing. It also disinfects the skin at hair-now you know why it is the most widely used essential oil in the world! In fact, lavender essential oil has been used for over 2,500 years.)
4. You may use the opportunity of this Reiki bath to perform a self healing session on yourself, cleanse your chakras, or for meditation. I love to listen to meditative music and let the Reiki flow so that I am purified inside and out by this experience.
5. At the end of my bathing, I let the water flow out of the tub and visualise all the negativity, all the energetic toxins and everything which no longer serves me is flowing down the drain as well.
6. I shower briefly in cool water to reinvigorate myself, and I cleanse the crystals that I have used with Reiki to purify them from any negative energy that they may have picked up while in the bath water.
7. Finally, I send some more Reiki to the entire room and visualise that all residual negativity is transmuted into harmony and positivity.
I hope that you will begin to enjoy cleansing Reiki baths of your own. Please feel free to adapt them to what suits you best, and let the water and Reiki flow!
