Having a good night rest allows us to not only recharge, but also manifest our goals. If you are like me, when something is bothering you, I’m tossing and turning throughout the night.
Not too long ago, I used to have many sleepless nights because I was either mulling over my life purpose or getting worked up about the daily drama of office politics. I felt so restless because I was exhausted from ruminating all day long but then when it came time for bed, I couldn’t sleep for more than two hours!
The cycle continued until I learned key energy healing techniques from my mentors, spiritual advisers, and simply through trial and error.
Here are a few simple steps to enjoy a good night’s rest tonight. Try the following strategies to also help you gain clarity to your most challenging frustrations.
If you have trouble falling asleep or wake up throughout the night, apply simple Reiki self-treatment hand positions to yourself to allow the healing energy to flow through the body, calm the mind and reduce anxiety. This can be done in less than 5-minutes and while laying down.
As you may already know, in our dream state, we can receive intuitive hits…those AHA! moments as our mind processes our thoughts, emotions, and just about everything else.
To get answers while you sleep, practice these techniques for at least two full weeks. Why two weeks? This allows you time to work through the dreams, especially if you are new to energy healing.
- Drink half a glass of water before bed. Water is an amplifier which keeps our energy flowing.
- Ask a question that you would like to seek clarity on. Note that asking more than one question will get confusing and actually gets in the way of obtaining faster results. So one question at a time! Ex. “What do I need to know in order to decide on whether or not I should switch jobs?”
- Upon waking up, drink the other half glass of water to help with energy flow.
- Immediately write down any dreams that you may have had during the night. Note any signs and symbols (numbers, animals, or anything that may have significance to you).
It may be helpful to refer to “Angel Numbers” by Doreen Virtue and “Animal Speak” by Ted Andrews to understand the signs and symbols.
Tip: If you do not recall your dreams, journal anyway. Using your dominant hand, write down your question that you are seeking clarity on and any concern(s). Then write down a response with your non-dominant hand. Let the thoughts flow freely as your write. Note any thoughts that come to mind until you fill at least 3 pages.
Can’t seem to get to the dream state?
No need to get out of bed to read a book or scroll through social media until you fall asleep. Apply the Reiki self-treatment hand positions help you find stillness in your thoughts and relax into that dream state. Remember, this can be done in less than 5-minutes and you can even do it laying down!
