Every soul whose mission is to work for the light is a lightworker. To work for the light means to awaken to the truth of who we really are and to live that truth in everyday life. This is accomplished by connecting with our Higher Self.
Our Higher Self is that aspect of us that is universal in nature. It is the one and all. It is beyond the body and beyond the mind. It is beyond the ego. It is beyond all limits. It expands outward to infinity. When we become Love and Light, we are in tune with our Higher Self.
The essence of our Higher Self is present in all of creation- every flower, bird, animal, stone, mountain, person, star, planet and every single aspect of creation embodies the essence of our Higher Self. It is who we truly are when we look beyond the veil of amnesia that our sensory world is enveloped in. Recognising this truth is the hidden soul agenda that pushes humans to look for healing of all kinds-physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
Recognising this truth and also helping others awaken to this truth is part of the Earthly mission of a Lightworker. This is not always a smooth journey because once the truth is recognised, it must also be lived to the best extent possible. A Lightworker encounter several obstacles as they go about fulfilling their mission. These obstacles are often presented by the egoic self in an effort to keep humans bound to old patterns and habits.
It is important to remember that we are here to fulfill a specific mission. Our mission is to create more love and light on the planet.
How can we continue to stay centered in Spirit when faced with obstacles on the path?
To quote my own example, I have often been through phases of spiritual awakening in which I found myself fretting over people and circumstances that I had no power to change and wishing things were different than they were. I have spent time and energy wondering why we can’t have more love and peace going around in the world, rather than more egoism, competition and anything that creates fear and divides people. These phases were rather intense because I drained myself of energy and ventured off my path worrying about things that helped no one.
The angels have always helped me though these phases. Archangel Michael is THE ANGEL who can get us back on track with a gentle yet powerful nudge. One day, the angels guided me to set my worries aside for a while and to join them in their effort to heal the planet. I followed this guidance and began by doing what I could right away- sending Reiki to the Earth. It was a team effort and during this experience, I could sense several other hands offering healing to the planet.
It was a blissful experience indeed and I felt immense gratitude for this opportunity to offer healing along with the angels. This experience awakened me a notch further. Through this opportunity, I had the profound realisation that my mission here is only to be an instrument of light and love. It is not my job to worry about other people or the state of affairs in the world. It is not my job to worry about how things can be better but to instead be the one that shows the path towards betterment. The angels don’t worry about how the world should be. They only do their job of bringing in more love and light.
If you are a lightworker, it is important to remember that life on Earth offers many distractions that can discourage you and throw you off your path. But since you have a specific mission to accomplish, it would serve you better to seek help from the higher realms and stay firmly rooted to your path.
If you are a Reiki lightworker, you are already doing important work through practising self-healing, teaching Reiki and offering healing to people, plants, animals and the Earth. This aside, it is also important to be an embodiment of Love and Light in everyday life. When we are love and Light, our energy has a positive impact on the energy field of the entire planet.
The following tips may support you as you go about fulfilling your mission:
Ask Higher Beings to Help You
Call upon the Angels, Archangels and Ascended Masters. Request them to help you stay focused on your path and to shine your light brighter. Most importantly, follow the specific guidance they offer you. Jesus and Archangel Michael offer bountiful blessings to everyone who wishes to be a channel for love and peace.
Work with Dai Ko Myo
Reiki Master Level practitioners are blessed to have access to the sacred energies of the spiritual awakening symbol Dai Ko Myo (The Master Symbol). If you are a third degree practitioner, meditate on this symbol. See yourself surrounded by this symbol and request it to help you be love and light. Working with this symbol can help you transform your energy into pure love and light.
Love and Light Mantra
Keep chanting the words Love and Light like you would chant a mantra. This is not about chanting the words mechanically but about actually feeling them in your heart and intending that they go out and light up the world.
Say Love and Light:
- When you wake up in the morning,
- As you go about your day and whenever you find a quiet moment
- While walking on the street
- When you hear about distressing world events
- When you witness people being unkind or have been unkind yourself
- When you see birds, animals and other creatures in pain or being subjected to inhuman treatment and you cannot do much to help them practically
- When you encounter people who are violent, sick or emotionally distressed and there is nothing you can do to help them practically
- When you find ego based obstacles coming in your way
- Before drifting off to sleep
- Anytime and all the time!
As you chant these words, feel yourself being love and light.
To make things easier, envelop yourself in pink or white light. Visualise this light going out and lighting up the world. You being love and being light makes a huge difference to the planet.

Hi Hi! I have been using this symbol on my shower head before I say my prayers and reiki in the shower. I think I will use this on my medicine bag and other crystals I carry on a daily basis to the native Centre. I have found lately due to circumstances that I can’t control, the hurtful words my sister has been saying via text, I send her back her energy and I don’t feel so riled up. I’ve been using my tobacco and trees to absorb energies that aren’t my own as well. So I say Hi Hi to this and am very honoured.
