Recently I wrote about Throat chakra blockage. Now I would like to go into a bit more detail about how to heal and balance the Throat chakra.
One of the first things to do is to notice what other chakras are being affected as well. When there is an imbalance or blockage in the Throat chakra, it will have an effect on at least one or two other chakras, and often several. Look for signs of blockage or imbalance in the heart (including the lungs, arms, and hands), the head, solar plexus and sacral regions. These are the most likely areas to be effected, though most any region can be effected by a Throat chakra blockage. Any areas that are found must be also treated in relation to the Throat chakra. All these systems are inter-related and when there is a major imbalance in one area, especially a major connecting center like the Throat, it creates ripple of imbalance in all the other areas that must work with and through it.
Treating directly with Reiki on the throat and any other areas that are found to be blocked will help shift the energy. Use the mental/emotional symbol and the distance symbol the help heal any deep seated patterns that have contributed to the development of the blockage. This is important because throat chakra issues are often related to personal trauma, feelings of not being heard, being manipulated or controlled in some way.
It is a way that the body expresses and stores the energy of unexpressed emotions, creativity and personal power. When the energy is moving in a healthy way, these things naturally express themselves in a healthy manner, both receiving information and the feelings of others, and expressing their own. Doing emotional healing through time and space allows any trauma to release and new patterns to form easily.
Suggest to the client that they explore their favorite form of self-expression, whatever that may be. Singing or chanting are excellent ways to open the Throat chakra, but they aren’t the only way. Reading their favorite poetry, especially if they recite it out loud (even to themselves), can be a great way to express and release emotions cathartically. Writing is another helpful tool. It doesn’t matter if you are a great writer. You can simply write in a journal, write stories for yourself that help you process, or write a letter of expression and release that you don’t intend to send. This last one can be very healing indeed! One can write out all of the feelings about a situation or a person that they would be too afraid or guilty to speak and then tear up or burn the letter or simply never send it. It is very freeing.
Crystal of the color blue are useful, but if crystals and stones aren’t your thing, you can simply make use of anything of the color blue. Adding in the colors of any other chakras that are blocked will add to the healing.
