Being of the highest service as a Reiki practitioner involves developing strategic business plans in order to reach the people who need what you are offering. An essential part of this development includes creating a strong brand identity. For instance, when you see a checkmark with the tagline “Just Do It”, you can’t help but think of Nike.
The Importance of Branding Your Reiki Practice:
- Your brand identity serves as the first impression of your business.
- The consistent representation of your branding builds a sense of familiarity and trust.
- It serves as a “promise” to your potential clients of what they can expect from you.
- It connects to potential clients on an emotional level they need to feel motivated to contact you.
There are seven elements to creating the type of branding that will bring the highest potential of success for your Reiki practice. All of these elements should be designed with your ideal client in mind. While you may hope to work with hundreds or thousands of clients throughout your career, having a profile of ONE perfect client will allow you to build a brand that speaks specifically to the group of people you resonate and want as your clients.
The Five Elements of a Successful Brand Identity:
- A quick explanation of what your Reiki practice does, including the benefits your services offer and who they are designed for. You will also want to include what makes you different from other Reiki practitioners. About 100 words is sufficient for this quick explanation.
- A promise of what people can expect from your Reiki services. This is a bit different than what benefits someone can receive. It could be a warm and safe environment, intuitive services or anything else that you are sure to deliver to each client.
- Show off your personality by listing the top five traits that you want people to associate with your Reiki practice. For instance, kind, wise, honest, etc… Keep these traits in mind with all the marketing materials and content that you create. You don’t need to constantly mention these traits, you just need to emulate them as a cornerstone of your business.
- Tell the story of your practice. Include the history and anything else that will add credibility and value. Because you are the Reiki practitioner, this story can relate to your personal story. Also, if your practice has been honored in anyway, or has been operating for fifteen years, or any other news of interest. Avoid making this story too long, between 400 and 1,000 words is ideal. Then, include a quick summary of the packages and services you offer.
- The last element of your branding strategies to create is your brand associations. This includes the creatives such as colors, logo, business name, banners, taglines, down to the font you are going to use.
Whatever you choose for your brand associations should tie in and reflect the promises you have made, traits you want to be most known for, and also work well with the explanation of your business. These associations work as a mantra that you use over and over. You will want this mantra to show up on everything including business cards, website, social media networks, fliers and anything else that represents your practice.
As people become familiar with your brand, and also mentioning you to friends and coworkers, you will begin to gain new clients effortlessly. This is when you will realize the importance of branding. This is also when you will notice that the time and investment you make for creating this identity will turn out to be the most beneficial business building activity you could choose to accomplish.
