Procrastination is something we all are familiar with, and experience it at one time or another. The work lies in front of you but you seem to have lost the drive to complete it. You keep postponing it for no apparent reason. Such a practice can cause us to feel overwhelmed with tasks and this adds up to our stress in everyday life. It is crucial to overcome this behavior before it starts affecting your career and relationships. So herein I dive deep into why this happens and how we can overcome it with a few daily practices.
Procrastination is basically the stagnant energy that keeps you stuck, not allowing you to take action and in most cases rooted in the blockages in the Solar Plexus. So here are a few healing modalities you can adopt in order to heal your Solar Plexus, beat procrastination and improve productivity in all areas of your life:
1. Candle Gazing
Solar Plexus signifies the ‘fire’ element, which is inherently transforming and purifying in nature. So concentrating on a candle helps to purify your Solar Plexus, remove the blockages and align you with the Universal Energy.
Start with three to five minutes and then you may extend the duration, according to your convenience. When you are practicing it, surrender all your thoughts allowing the process of transformation and behold the feeling of gratitude for the cleansing process.
2. Sun bathing
Start practicing the ‘Sun Salutation’ yogic routine in the sun, during the time of sunrise. Sun exposure stimulates the release of serotonin (from the brainstem) and melatonin (from the pineal gland). This improves focus and brings calm and motivation.
3. Core exercises and yogic postures
Practice the exercises which engage the core muscles such as ‘Boat Pose’, ‘Bridge Pose’, ‘Triangle pose’. These postures stimulate the release of digestive juices and the appropriate neurotransmitters such as ‘serotonin’ and ‘dopamine’ (from the intestine), which significantly improves your emotional state, enhancing productivity and bringing back your drive to work.
4. Reiki
Clean, heal and energize your Solar Plexus every day with Reiki symbols that you are attuned to, because it houses a lot of emotional and physical blockages. The Solar Plexus governs our gut which is our second brain. So when you lack the drive to work or remain stuck in a state of anxiety, it’s your Solar Plexus asking for the cleaning campaign. With a healthy Solar Plexus and a happy gut, you can overcome any of your emotional or physical issues, including procrastination.
Each one of us is blessed with the capability to create a life of abundance, and we need a strong drive to create that life of purpose. Let us renounce the ‘victim mindset’ and tap into our infinite power and participate wholeheartedly in the process of co-creation of our unique abundant lives along with the Universe.
