A psychic attack is a negative energy that can affect us individually, as part of a group, or globally. The energies can be generated intentionally, or unintentionally.
Here are some examples:
An individual/intentional attack is when someone gossips about you at your workplace. A stronger attack in this area could be made by an abusive, or threatening, person. An individual/unintentional attack is when a colleague has jealous thoughts when you received a promotion, and he did not. A group attack is negative comments about all Reiki or holistic practitioners. And globally, the negative conflicts in our world can affect all of us. To summarize, there are countless ways we can be affected by negative energies in today’s world.
These energies can affect us in physical, mental/emotional and spiritual arenas – the same areas where Reiki energies can bring healing. The most common physical effects seem to be these: depletion of energies, resulting in lethargy or fatigue; heavy energies resulting in severe headaches, or stomach issues; and frequently, pains and aches in the back. When another person is sending you negative thoughts, it is usually “behind your back.”
The mental/emotional impacts are also challenging; a person can feel confused, grow in self-doubt, and lose self-esteem. Over time, these thoughts can evolve into anxiety, depression, or other mental health conditions.
Our spiritual lives can be greatly affected, as we forget the truth of unconditional love. We feel unworthy, questioning our spiritual connectedness. We feel alone in the world.
The healing energies of Reiki can bring light to all these energies, and the associated issues. It can also provide protection against any future attacks. Reiki also reminds us of how loving Spirits can work in our lives. Michael the Archangel, as well as Spirit Guides and deceased loved ones, can provide strong, loving protection – all we have to do is ask. Imparting this information to Reiki clients can be one of the most important parts of a Reiki treatment session. Encouraging clients to be an active participant in taking care of their energies, and finding balance in their lives, is an essential element in our role as Reiki practitioners.
There are two other major educational points we can give to clients.
- First, we can provide information about the effects in their personal environments – workplaces, homes, communities. The negative energies they receive from others can then be transmitted to where they work and live. When our workplaces are filled with unhealthy competition and greed, we can inadvertently bring that home with us. Everyone can learn how to clear these energies before walking through the front door – through intention, or a practice, such as a cleansing ritual or a calming meditation.
- Secondly, we can inform clients how the energies of the global community can affect us every day, if we do not take steps to combat the negativity. The best way is to impart kindness, light and peace within our everyday lives. From thinking positive thoughts when learning about a tragedy or seeing an argument on a street corner – to daily practice of meditation or prayer – we can transform the harmful energies into helpful ones. There are no limits to this possibility! We, as Reiki practitioners, have a vital role in diminishing psychic attacks in today’s world.
