Article by Deborah Lloyd, Reiki Master
Reflecting on the past year of my Reiki training classes, one theme stands out. Many students were single people who were seeking greater spiritual connection. Although they were learning and growing in their spirituality, they felt there was something missing in their lives. And, that “something” was not having a partner, a soulmate, someone who could be an integral part of this journey. Several verbalized their concerns they would never find anyone to understand their experiences with Reiki and their spiritual path.
This reflects a lack of understanding of energetic vibrations. Like attracts like. Whenever a Reiki practitioner raises her vibrations, she is more likely to attract a partner of a similar vibrational level. Living in a state of calmness and peaceful harmony will bring emotionally healthy people into their lives. Your soulmate may be part of this new group in your life – or someone may introduce you to a family member or friend with similar energies.
But, it is difficult to erase the memories of past experiences. Painful relationship endings can create fears and anxieties that these events will be repeated again. Rather than avoiding these painful memories, personal growth can be obtained by further examination.
Reiki can be applied to the Heart chakra to help in healing the emotions related to past experiences. A person can then examine what actually happened between the other and herself to gain insights and a more objective perspective.
Reiki can also be used to aid us in forgiving others – and ourselves – in how these relationships developed and ended. Reiki can be used to give gratitude for the many life lessons learned during these difficult times.
When we use Reiki frequently, or better yet daily, we gradually change our perceptions of life. If we have any negative thoughts about our ability to have healthy relationships, these can be identified and healed. These thoughts may include something like: “Why do I always find dishonest men?”; “Why do I attract women who are focused too much on their appearance and what others think of them?”; “Why do I date people who are more interested in their careers than me?”.
Reiki teaches us we have the power to create and manifest the lives our hearts desire. Getting in touch with our heart’s true desires, and our soul’s purpose is the first step. Living in these beautiful energies will do two things: first, we will feel so fulfilled, the urgency of having a wonderful relationship diminishes. That shift to acceptance changes our energies in meaningful ways. As we grow in this peaceful harmony, we attract people who also strive to live in a peaceful state. This is the first step in creating fulfilling relationships.
Reiki leads us to live in a state of intention and mindfulness. As we grow in awareness of our life purpose, the goal to have a loving and fulfilling relationship becomes stronger – yet, at the same time, we grow in patience as we realize areas where we need more growth to form emotionally healthy relationships.
In the past year, many of my Reiki students have come to this realization. When they set the intention to grow spiritually and holistically, great things happen. The more relaxed and accepting they became within themselves, the more they grew in peace and happiness. Then, a soulmate appears in their lives, and beautiful relationships are formed. Another Reiki miracle…
