Follows is a great technique to quickly charge up your energetic levels. This can be done before a Reiki healing session, or as part of a regular meditative practice. It will help with connecting and opening up as a channel to the healing energy of Reiki, as well as increasing the efficacy of your healing work on yourself and others.
Establish a relaxed, regular breathing pattern. Do not strain, just relax and allow the breath to flow naturally. As you do so, feel your entire body relaxing, giving up tension. Allow your mind to calm down and center, as any cares, concerns or distracting thoughts fade away with each breath. See your body filling with white light. Keep this rhythmic breath throughout the exercise.
Visualize about 6 inches above the top of your head a radiant disc of white light, about the size of a small saucer, alive and pulsating with energy. Project Dai Ko Myo into the center of the sphere, chanting the mantra three times. With each repetition the light of the sphere grows brighter. You can feel an almost electrical quality in the air.
Now see a beam of white light come down from the sphere above your head, and rest at your heart center, where a disc of rose-gold solar light awakens. Feel its warmth and invigorating radiance, and project the symbol of Dai Ko Myo into the center, again chanting the mantra three times.

As you breathe in, see a powerful current of energy flow down from the disc atop your head, down through the channel of light, and come to rest in the heart center, where the rose gold light expands and brightens. Continue this process of cycling the energy while breathing, feeling the light fill your entire aura. With each breath, the light circulates throughout your entire body, invigorating every cell, flowing through your bloodstream, giving every part of your body, mind and soul healing light.
Now project the other Reiki symbols into your aura at the heart center, in the order of Cho Ku Rei, Sei Hei Ki, and sealing it all with Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen. Intone the mantra of each symbol as you project it.
Allow yourself to rest in the light of your Reiki energized aura. You can now move on to a standard Reiki self-healing session or a client healing session. It is also a nice practice to do in bed right before going to sleep. You will find that you have vivid dreams, may have communications from your Reiki Spirit Guides, and will awake refreshed and energetic!
When you are finished with your session (or when you wake up!), see the light condense into a ball of radiance at your heart center. Give thanks to Reiki and to your Spirit Guides for their help and guidance.
