In the world of alternative treatment modalities, including Reiki, there is usually some focus on the challenging reality of developing a thriving practice. It is not uncommon for clients to try a new modality a few times and then move onto something else. With Reiki, clients who are drawn to it may become practitioners themselves and do their own self-treatment sessions.
Perhaps, what we should be examining is our entire focus on the financial aspects of our lives. The economies in our homeland countries vary a great deal; yet, how we perceive our individual economic situations have the same, underlying themes. As every thought and belief is based in either love or fear, so is every thought we have about our finances. Each of us sees our particular money situation in one way or another – either we see it through the eyes of abundance, or the eyes of scarcity. The amazing thing is – it is not directly associated with the amount of money we have, except perhaps for the very poor. It would be difficult not to see scarcity in your life, if you do not know when you may eat again. Yet, some people living in abject poverty are able to acknowledge the blessings they have. Many people who are wealthy are still not satisfied and their primary life goal is the accumulation of more wealth. Some people in the economic middle class live in fear that someday all their money will disappear.
One of the most healing aspects of Reiki is the feeling of calmness and peace. As a person becomes more and more aware of the peace that is always available to them, the desire to live in that peaceful place grows each day. It becomes increasingly uncomfortable to sit with anxiety and fear. The person becomes aware of fearful thoughts quickly, recognizes the discomfort and intentionally sends the thoughts away. At the same time, positive, loving thoughts become a comfortable friend. These thoughts grow into gratitude and appreciation for the many blessings in life.
For most of us in the middle classes, we worry too much about paying our bills or saving enough for retirement. When we fuel our anxieties with negative thoughts, we create the exact energy we are most fearful of! We worry about having an expensive heating bill in the winter, and we receive a high bill. We worry that we will not get a raise at work this year, and we act surprised when we do not receive the raise. The Law of Attraction teaches us like attracts like. As Reiki energy is always based in unconditional love and healing, the more Reiki we bring into our lives, the more abundance we have. The abundance may not necessarily equal dollars and cents, but rather our ability to embrace the multitude of gifts in our lives.
Rather than worry, we can repeat positive affirmations regarding the abundance in our lives. We give thanks that we have the money to pay our rent and all our bills. We live in awareness of the goodness of the earth’s resources. We live in awareness of the spiritual support always within us, and surrounding us. We express gratitude every day.
We live in abundance and love. Thank you, Reiki, for this strong and gentle reminder.
