Is Reiki for You?

Of course it is! You would not have come to this site if it weren’t calling you in some way. It is said that everyone has the ability to do Reiki. Not everyone may be called to do it and not all those that are called may heed that call, but I honestly believe that anyone can do Reiki, in some form or another.

Reiki is for everyone. I teach that we are already wired for it. It is there, waiting for activation. As the teacher, when I give an attunement, I am like the electric company, turning you on, flipping the switch. That is the activation! You are now attuned. You are now a channel. You are now filled with the bright light of that Universal Life Force energy that Reiki is. Reiki is light. Reiki is love. Let it guide you and teach you.

After the Level One attunement, you will be able to give yourself Reiki, your friends, your family, your pets, your plant anyone and anything. Yes, you are a channel. With each subsequent attunement your channel grows larger and it continues to grow the more you use it. It never diminishes, even if you never, ever use it. You will always be a channel. The more Reiki you do the wider your channel becomes. And remember, Reiki flows through you, not from you. I feel this really takes the pressure off. It’s not you!

I’ve had many students take my classes that had no interest in teaching or practicing professionally. Know that you do not have to. Use Reiki as your own personal discovery tool. For me, it was that key that opened a door to unknown worlds. So many things changed for me after I began getting Reiki attunements. I like to say that we don’t know what we don’t know and that is certainly true with regards to Reiki. I had no idea what was in store for me. So if you are being called but are not sure you want to practice or teach, follow the Reiki path anyways. At the very least you will raise your vibration and acquire some new tools. And who knows? You may surprise yourself and one day practice and/or teach. Be open to the miracles that Reiki brings.

When I took my first class I assumed I was there for my own personal healing. That is true. Reiki heals us first and foremost, even if that is not our intention when we take the class. I also (wrongly) assumed I’d never need to go any further than Level One. At the end of the day the other students were making plans for the Level Two class they would take. I demurred. I had no intention to go any further. Yet when I heard the call to continue, I listened, even if I did not understand why.

We all have different reasons why we start, and I’ve since learned they are never what we think they are. The beautiful thing about Reiki is it will give you what you need, when you need it. It’s there for you, just waiting for you to tap into its beautiful energy. Now I knew none of this again, this is spoken from the vantage point of being involved with Reiki for 13 years but it is true. It is waiting for you. It is so excited that you heeded the call. You listened and you will be rewarded with the changes it will bring to you. Reiki is our own personal GPS guiding us back to who we really are. It gives us back to us. Why not give it a chance? Get a session, take a class and find out what it has in store for you. You won’t be disappointed.
