The Well of Dreams Chakra goes by other names like the Eight or Occipital Lobe or Zeal chakra or the Mouth of God. This chakra is situated at base of the skull and back of the neck.
It is considered as one of the new chakras. It has not received the kind of attention it deserves. When activated, this chakra is responsible for the flow of information from the higher dimensions. While the activation of the third eye chakra helps us become clairvoyant this chakra helps us develop a higher level of clairvoyance. It also opens up or magnifies spiritual abilities, healing gifts, etc. It is said to be blessed by the Buddha. Some experts are of the view that this is the point where the soul enters at birth.
This chakra helps in recollection of dreams and astral travel and out of body experience thereby making it vulnerable to attacks from lower energies. Spiritual shielding of this chakra is very important.
Some of the symptoms of the awakening of this chakra are headaches, tension in the neck and upper shoulders. The qualities of this chakra are strength, protection, gentleness and gracefulness.
Lethargy, depression, fatigue, and difficulties in manifesting desires / goals are some of the signs that this chakra is blocked or imbalanced. The reasons for the blockage or imbalance could be stress, emotional trauma or negative programming of thoughts. When open, balanced and healthy one manifests from a place of love. This chakra works very closely with the Crown chakra. It makes communication with our spirit guides, guardian angels and other divine beings from the higher realms easier.

The colour of this chakra is magenta and the crystal for healing it is pink tourmaline.
Those with Reiki 1 certification needn’t worry as this is covered in self-healing hand placements (21 points).
Steps for the healing exercise for Reiki 2 & Master level practitioners:
- Thank the Divine Spirit, Reiki, Archangels, one’s own spirit guides, teachers, etc, for their protection, assistance and guidance in the healing process.
- Visualize Reiki energy enter through your / clients Crown chakra and see yourself / client, completely bathed in divine light (Reiki energy).
- Draw the Power and (Master symbol if you have been attuned to it) visualize the Occipital Lobe area covered in white light and intend that all blockages be cleared.
- Draw the Power, Distance and Mental / Emotional symbols (Master symbol if you have been attuned to it) and any other symbols you are guided to and visualize the area covered with magenta light and intend that this chakra is healed and energized with Reiki energy and it is healthy and well developed.
- Then intend that this chakra is shielded from all lower energies.
Thank your higher self and your client’s higher self for their presence.
Anytime you feel depressed, tired or lack the will to move ahead, place your palms on this area energise it with Reiki. We are so focussed on the other seven chakras we miss out on this chakra and fail to understand after giving Reiki to all the other points, why there is no change. Maybe this area is depleted or blocked, amongst those of us who are very sensitive to energy, this is the chakra easily affected by negative energies, psychic attacks, thoughts of others, etc. Therefore, along with cleansing and energising, the shielding of this chakra is very important.

I think we heal our occipital lobe everyday while healing our & chakras as while healing third eye our hand position is right hand in the front on third eye and left hand in the back on the occipital lobe.

The base of my skull is always hurting along with my upper back and shoulders. It’s from a compression fracture on my spine and scoliosis which I just learned I had a few months ago. Doctors don’t know the reason for either I think it was kundalini since my life has advanced so much spiritually, emotionally, and physically. I don’t even feel like the same person I was 2 years ago because I didn’t know myself then I was so closed minded. My twin flame started it all. I get migraines that start at the base of my skull and go up behind my eyes and forehead. It makes me dizzy and nauseous. What can I do?
I am sorry for the very delayed reply Cathy. I am not an expert on kundalini, it is a very complex subject and truely understood by great yogis. Sadly trivialized today.
Anyways for your problem give Reiki to your neck i.e. draw the symbols (if you are attuned to Reiki 2) and intend that Reiki is flowing through your palms.
I too used to get headaches which started from the base, an energy healer of a different modality after scanning told me that issues with the neck were creating headaches.
The throat chakra is at the base of the neck, but there is a chakra on the back of our neck so this needs to be healed. Research and experimenting on myself, have shown that this is very vulnerable to psychic attacks and energy draining cords.

Since 2019 and all thru quarantine the last 15 months all my client sessions at a distance and in-person are activating this chakra! It was new to me so although I was puzzled and intrigued I just followed the energy.
Yes it seems to be amplifying everyone’s ability to claim their psychic gifts.I work with Soul Profiles of Starseeds to help them feel at home on this planet and acclimatize to the 3D to 5D shift and have found it is a Gateway of pineal/pituitary link to root chakra to possibilities.

I would advice you to balance all chakras then work on this chakra. Stiff neck can also indicate unbalanced energy in the solar plexus.
Always scan your energy field to see where the imbalance is. Spiritual healing knowledge cannot be contained in books , it is based on intuition.
