Working with Reiki through Time and Space

Reiki works through intention. When we set the intention to connect with a particular person, place, situation or time in order to send healing or to bring balance, Reiki begins to flow. It is as if we have set a dial to a frequency that opens the channel, asking Reiki to flow to a particular place or time. Our intention shows Reiki where our need is and where we are ready to begin our healing work at this present moment.

Reiki knows no boundaries of time or space. We can set the intention to send healing to anything, anywhere or in any time period—past, present or future. It is only our minds that bind us. Even without the use of symbols, Reiki will still flow. Symbols will aid in refining the strength and serve as a tuning tool, but Reiki is Universal Energy. It is intelligent and it will flow where it needs to, even if you are not able to use the symbols, or choose not to. Use your intention to ask Reiki to flow for the greatest good and it will flow.

There are a number of ways that we can apply Reiki over time and space. You can send Reiki ahead to a situation or to an entire day. There is no need to only send Reiki ahead to stressful event, events such as school or medical situations, though this is helpful. Send Reiki ahead to all you can think of! Imagine it like a light creating a brightly lit path in your life and the world.

We can also send Reiki to the past. This can help to clear out traumas and stuck energy that still affects us in the present. We can send Reiki to our own physical body where it has stored negative energy, and to our mental and emotional bodies as well, so that they can release the memories and any repeating thought patterns associated with them. We can even offer Reiki to our cells and our DNA, so that any effects of negative patterning may come into better balance.

Another way to send Reiki to the past is to offer Reiki to entire situations. By this I mean we can ask Reiki to flow to an entire event that caused harm or negativity. Ask that Reiki flow to the Higher Selves of all involved in creating the event and all those affected by it as well. This is beneficial for both smaller situations, such as disagreements in a family or for a much larger situations such as a tragedy seen on the news that may be very far away from you. No matter how far away the event is, you can still send healing and it will help.

We can also ask Reiki to flow to the Earth herself. The Earth is a living entity and she has absorbed a great deal of negative energy from the suffering of humans and other beings. You may have been to an area where the land felt very heavy and dense, or perhaps you have read about old battlegrounds that felt this way and still held the energy of the harm that was caused there. This is one of the ways that the land holds dense energy. Healers assist her to release this harmlessly by offering their healing energy in various ways, especially to areas where great suffering has occurred or is occurring.

You may even choose to offer Reiki to your guides, angels and your Higher Self as a thank you for all the help they give you. There really is no limit, other than your own imagination!
