Whatever your level of Reiki training, you already understand the benefits that Reiki has brought into your daily life. This is amplified as you continue to utilise Reiki for your regular self-healing and creating an easier way of life through your resonance with Reiki energy.
Through your awareness, consciousness, and intent you can instantaneously tune into the vibrational frequency of Reiki energy, altering your own energy vibration as well of those you are working with as a Reiki practitioner. But just as easy as it is to raise the energy vibration, you can degrade that frequency when you have an egocentric mindset of anger, and any combination of conflicting emotions. It is therefore imperative to make a sincere effort to preserve pure consciousness in order to keep on resonating with the higher dimensional energy of Reiki.
Reiki Ho, i.e., the method of Reiki allows us to utilise the higher dimensional energy of the Universe for healing and wellbeing. In Reiki Ho, you become a Reiki channel according to the level of your understanding of what Reiki is, and receive Reiki energy according to your readiness and experience – experience being based on the regular practice of Reiki Ho. Therefore, Reiki Ho is to receive and utilise Reiki energy according to your level of understanding and receptibility of the essence of this Universal energy.
Through the practices of Reiki Ho, your awareness will be raised, and you will be able to realise a harmonious way of life. Being in balance in body, mind, and spirit, both within and with your outside worlds is but one benefits of the higher dimensional energy of Reiki. However, you need to be aware and alert to the dangers of unconsciously connecting with lower vibrational energy, which is NOT Reiki energy, when you are not in the right state of mind. Being attached to the outcome is one of the greatest culprits here as it is ego-based and often a fear-based mindset. Being in the right mindset will feel comfortable, calm, and peaceful – there will be a sense of everything is as it should be.
Reiki Ho should be focussed on the practice of Reiki with ease in your day-to-day life – it should not be practiced in such a way that it would seem like effort. One of the simplest Reiki Ho techniques is the Hatsurei-ho through which our Reiki channel is enhanced and purified. Through Hatsurei-ho we are supported in your spiritual growth, and it is an excellent way to cleanse and purify the aura.
During the Hatsurei-ho it is recommended that you place your hands a little away from the body in the auric field.
The Hatsurei-ho exercise is as follows:
Step 1: Kihon Shisei (Standard Posture)
Sit on the floor, Seiza style, i.e., on your knees, sitting on your legs, or sitting on a chair. Remove all the tension from your body and relax. Close your eyes lightly. Straighten your back. Bring your attention to the Tanden (3-5 cm below the navel). Rest both hands on the lap, palms facing downwards.
Step 2: Mokunen (Focusing)
Quietly tell your subconscious mind “I will now start Hatsurei-ho”.
Step 3: Ken’yoku (Dry Bathing/Brushing Off):
- Place your right palm on the upper left side of your chest on the upper chest/collarbone/ shoulder joint, with the fingers resting on your trapezius muscle as it meets the shoulder joint. Your hand is lying flat on your chest.
- Move your hand slowly across your chest in a straight line, over the middle of your chest and along to your right hip, where you stop. Breathe out as you make this movement.
- Repeat this procedure on the right side of your chest, using your left hand. Start with the fingertips of your left hand in the indentation below the point where your right collarbone meets your shoulder and move the flat of your hand across the chest to the left hip. Breathe out as you make this movement.
- Repeat the procedure again on the left side, using your right hand.
- Now place your right hand in the same start position as before.
- Move the flat of your right hand down the outside of your left arm, all the way to the fingertips and beyond. Breathe out as you make this movement. Your left arm can be held straight by your side or slightly forwards.
- Repeat this process on the right side, using your left hand.
- Repeat the process on the left side again.
Step 4: Connect to Reiki Energy
Raise your hands high up in the air, visualise and feel the vibration/light of Reiki flowing into your hands and running through your whole body.
Step 5: Joshin Kokyu-ho (Cleansing Breathing)
Calmly breathe in and out through the nose with pure thoughts. Rest both hands on your lap, palms facing upwards and slightly curled as if holding an egg. Bring the mind to the Tanden and keep it there. Breathe naturally in a relaxed manner. As you breathe in, imagine, or visualise that white Reiki energy is coming through the top of the head down to the Tanden and spreading everywhere throughout your body. At the same time imagine that all the tension is melting away and making you feel relaxed. As you breathe out, do Hado breathing, i.e., breathing out with the “Haa” sound slowly and firmly, releasing all stress and tension from your body. Imagine that the light which is now filling your entire body is now also emanating out through the skin and spreading into infinity.
Repeat Steps 4 and 5 a few times until you feel completely relaxed and connected to Reiki energy.
Step 6: Gassho (Prayer Position)
Put your hands together holding them in front of your chest a little higher than your heart. Feel the connection with Reiki energy and the pulsating energy in the palms of your hands.
Step 7: Seishin Toitsu (Concentration)
Keep the Gassho, bring your attention to the Tanden. Imagine that you are breathing through your hands. When you breathe in, visualise the light of Reiki flowing in through your hands to your hara line and filling the Tanden. When you breathe out, do Hado breathing and visualise that the Reiki light that is stored in your Tanden is now radiating out through your hands. During this step your attention should remain on your breathing.
Step 8: Mokunen (Quiet Ending)
Put your hands back onto your lap with your palms down. Say silently to your subconscious mind “I have finished Hatsurei-ho.” Open your eyes and shake your hands for a few seconds.
This exercise takes only a few minutes and can easily be incorporated into your self-care and self-healing routines or become a part of your meditations. It is an excellent way of starting your day and setting the tone for the rest of your day filled with higher dimensional happiness which resonates with the vibrational energy of the great Universe.
