Are you feeling blocked? Stifled? Stymied? Feel like you are putting forth maximum effort but making no progress? Many times we feel stuck in a place where we do not want to be, but have no idea how to move forward and get to a better space.
At times when we are frustrated by our lack of progress, we can make a written inventory of where we are at. An honest inventory will identify the root cause or causes of our discomfort. The physical effort of picking up a pencil and putting our thoughts on paper can be very empowering. Now, instead of spinning our wheels and feeling unhappy and stuck, we are taking action. Immediately we begin to live in the solution and not the problem.
Taking inventory does not need to take hours or be pages and pages of insights. A simple one page inventory can be as illuminating as many hours spent trying other methods. If your issues seem to be centered around one area, concentrate on that. Career, relationship, housing, health – narrow down primary problem you face today. If there are multiple issues dogging your happiness, pick one to create a starting point. You can always do a second or third inventory down the line.
We will break it down into two parts: a section for just putting thoughts on paper and one targeting specific issues.
You will want to use simple tools: an ample supply of paper (like a legal pad), a pencil or pen, and Reiki energy. Sit quietly with Reiki flowing and clear the energy around you. Allow Reiki to remove stress, tension, and negativity you may be carrying in your body. Starting above the crown of the head, sweep your hands to clear your aura, brushing away clutter and lower frequencies. This is known as taking a Reiki shower. This simple act can free you of stagnation and change the course of your whole day!
Allow Reiki to flow to your tools and call in your support team: your angels, ancestors, spirit guides, compassionate helping spirits. Ask that they assist and guide you. Now you are ready to pick up your pen and start writing. Do not be concerned with the words hitting the paper, just let them flow. This writing is only for you and no one else ever needs to see it, unless you choose to show it to them. This process is called free writing and you may be surprised at what comes through. You may find insights to your blocks and issues that never occurred to you before. Write for as long as you want or feel inspired. Part one may be enough for your first session, or you may want to continue to the next step to explore on a deeper level.
When you feel ready, shake out your hands and release the feelings that may have come up. Take some deep breaths to center yourself. Starting a new page, make sections with headers and leave room for lists or detailed comments.
Write down:
What is holding me back from where I want to go?
Are my limitations internal or external?
If internal how will I work on them?
If external – is there something I can do today to move toward my goal?
How do I want to feel?
Do I need more confidence?
Am I trying to pack too much into my days and overtaxing myself?
Am I lonely and need to reach out to my community?
Am I stressed and if so, what is the source of my anxiety?
What do I want to create?
Better quality relations with family or friends
Progress in my work
Balance in my work/home life
Balance in my finances for increased security
As you look over your writing, you may see a pattern or a recurring point that captures your attention. Once you have gotten all your thoughts on paper, you can look at them constructively and create a plan to move forward. Your writing serves as a tangible reminder to allow you to look back at where you were at this specific moment in time. This provides a concrete method to gauge your progress, or lack of it.
In closing your inventory, thank your guides for their support. Release any emotions like anger or fear you may have associated with your list.
Use a simple spoken medication to reset:
I am connected to earth
I am connected to breath
I am connected to spirit
I breathe and balance
Just so,
With these tools I raise my vibration
This would be an opportune time to make a short gratitude list. Just put down a few things you are grateful for today. This practice provides the cornerstone of our content and we can return to it often when we get discouraged. No matter what our troubles, we can always find something to be grateful for.
Give yourself credit for the good job you have done and be pleased that you are moving forward. You can repeat this process whenever you feel stuck or just want a little clarity.
