Reiki Through Your Own Lens

Articles

26 Oct 2018

As I sat down to write about Reiki today, so many topics went through my mind: using Reiki for sleep, Using Reiki on your children, Reiki for peace of mind, Reiki for exams….there are so many wonderful applications for Reiki. We can use Reiki in any situation as it works for the highest good.

But the overriding message in each article would (and will) be: Do it your way. Trust your instincts. Hold intention for the highest good. Trust Reiki.

I love reading about other people’s Reiki experiences and ideas. So often I’m inspired by a new way to use Reiki to help myself and others enhance life. I also enjoy sharing my Reiki stories with others. It is heart warming how just communicating about our love for Reiki brings people together, unites us and spreads understanding and acceptance among people who might never have connected without Reiki in their lives. It’s inspiring to read about someone else’s methods and ideas and there’s such a wealth of them out there: use of symbols and visualisation, vision boards, Reiki boxes, ways of sending and sharing Reiki to those present and distant and so many other wonderful notions; not to mention all the theories and ideas about what Reiki actually is and where it comes from.

The methods we each develop are quite often unique to us, each Reiki channel delivering Reiki through their unique body and mind. Most would agree that Reiki is always the same, divine, pure love light. It’s just that we each view Reiki, like everything else in life, through our own lens, which is formed according to our beliefs, experiences, expectations, and needs. It helps to bear this in mind when taking inspiration from someone else’s idea. It’s absolutely fine, and probably a necessary step, in trying something new, to put your own twist on it. Do things your own way in your own unique style. If you act in a way that feels right in your gut it’ll be more authentic to you and therefore more sincere and heartfelt. Making it easier for you to act for the highest good and focus on your intention.

I’d encourage anyone who uses Reiki to apply it to any area of life that they feel called to, in any way that feels right. We only find what works for us by trying it. The main hurdle I had (and still have) to overcome is my ego, my own voice nagging at me that I should know this already, should be better, shouldn’t need to practice what feels so natural, am probably not as good as other Reiki practitioners etc etc. This is where trust in Reiki comes in, I remind myself that it’s not about me; that Reiki works for the highest good, all I need is intention, focus and to go with my instincts to do that feels right. To me, one of the most important things is doing what feels right. Trusting Reiki, first of all, then trusting instincts, and whatever higher guiding forces that are felt, knowing Reiki will work for the highest good.

I have found when I am teaching Reiki, that different students find various parts of the study more natural than others. It genuinely is about finding the unique way that Reiki moves in you. Thank you! <3 <3
