The Healing Power of Mantra Affirmations and Reiki

Reiki and Mantras are powerful energy healing techniques that can have a profound effect on our well being.

Mantras are powerful healing affirmations filled with energy.

Mantras are practiced in Japa meditation or said as prayers in yogic, Hindu, and Buddhist practices. The meaning and various types of mantras are sacred and hold special powers. They can become an integral part of our spiritual practice. They can also become an integral part of our Reiki practice.

A mantra is a revealed word, a divine sound that has been received or experienced by a rishi (seer) in the state of deep samadhi (spiritual absorption).

Mantra is a sacred formula, it is a subtle form of a deity, sound/vibration. They are part of a sacred spiritual language called Sanskrit, which is a vibrational language. The language can be felt throughout the body. It promotes healing through our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.

Combining the energy of Reiki with the vibrational healing qualities of a mantra will allow us to reap great spiritual healing benefits.

Below are a few mantras to try while performing self Reiki or having the client repeat aloud.

OM (AUM)

OM is the sound of pure consciousness.

Three aspects of OM

• A – represents brahma (creator)
• U – Vishnu (Sustainer-preserver)
• M – Shiva (destroyer)

Mantras for the Chakras

• Root Chakra: LAM
• Sacral Chakra: VAM
• Solar Plexus Chakra: RAM
• Heart Chakra: YAM
• Throat Chakra: HAM
• Third Eye Chakra: OM
• Crown Chakra: Silence
