You have probably heard of sending Reiki to your food as a means of blessing it and raising its energy vibration before you eat it. This is a way of taking in a little extra Reiki energy via your food and it also has the benefit of shifting you into a state of gratitude prior to eating, which is healing in itself.
There is something extra you can do as you send Reiki to your food, which can boost a healing intention you may have. By placing your healing intention into the food you are about to eat, along with the Reiki energy, you boost the effectiveness of the healing. It is really simple to do.
1. Hold in your mind the thought or image of the situation you intend to direct healing to. Envision this as a symbol, color, object or whatever makes sense to you.
2. Place that image into the food you are about to eat, as you are sending it Reiki.
3. Hold the intention that Reiki increase the healing of this situation for the greatest and highest good. As you do this, see all connected to the situation in their best light, and hold love in your heart.
4. Eat your meal.
Like with all healing, it is important that you let go of the specifics of the outcome. Let it unfold as it needs to, recognizing that the path may be different than you could have anticipated. You can use this method for spiritual, emotional and thought-level healing, as well as physical issues. For example, you might use it for the intention of greater openness to love (or self-love) in your life, or greater strength or clarity in a particular situation. On a spiritual level, you might ask for a new spiritual path or teacher, if you are ready for deeper growth. You might ask for assistance in letting go of an issue you are ready to release. You can also use it for larger issues, such as sending healing to an environmental issue or a governmental problem, or to direct healing to a loved one who is in need.
If you have a very specific intention to work with, you might choose to prepare a food, or use herbs that represent that intention to you. For example, if your focus was to heal your love life, you might choose foods that are commonly associated with love such as chocolate, or red foods like beets. If your intention was to work with clearing negativity, you might use the herbs sage or basil in your meal preparation. Anything that you relate to your intention will increase the strength and focus of the energy going into the meal, so if it makes sense to your meal, incorporate it.
I can’t explain why this specific method of directing a healing intention and Reiki into your food works to boost the effectiveness. Maybe it is the combined focused concentration on both Reiki and the specific intention. Maybe it is that you take the Reiki and intention charged food into your body, making their energy a part of you. Maybe the energy of the food and the herbs used to season it play a role in the healing. I have been working with this for the last year and aside from the boost in healing intentions, I feel more connected with my food and the cycles of life. Experiment with it for yourself and notice what results you get!
