Question by Marta:
Can you kill a person that has cancer with Reiki?
Answer by Deborah Lloyd:
Marta, thank you for your question. What we believe is that Reiki will always bring healing to those who receive Reiki. However, please understand that healing is not the same as a physical cure. A physical cure of cancer would mean the cancer has vanished from the body; there are no more cancerous cells or tumors. Reiki can manifest these kinds of miracles, but often this is not the case.
The healing that Reiki can bring to a person with cancer is tremendous. Whenever a person hears this diagnosis, it feels overwhelming. Reiki can settle the emotional body of the person. It can bring calmness and serenity, enabling cancer treatments to be more effective. Reiki can help the person to have a positive attitude to approach this disease with confidence and hope. Reiki can help to alleviate fears and anxiety. If the cancer becomes terminal, Reiki can help the person to find acceptance. The list of emotional benefits is endless.
Physically, Reiki has many benefits. From increasing the ability to sleep, to decreasing side effects of pain and nausea, the person can live through the experience much easier. Reiki can help medications and other treatments to become more effective. Reiki may even slow down the growth of cancer cells. The list of physical benefits is many.
Going through any medical difficulty can be a time of spiritual growth. When we deal with disease, we often take the time to connect to Spirit, through prayer and/or meditation. Often, our faith becomes stronger and we may even resolve old spiritual issues. We become aware of the unconditional love that is always present.
Every time we give Reiki, we focus on the highest good of the receiver. We should not focus on the outcome at all, but rather what is in the best interest of the receiver. Know that Reiki always brings healing, in some form, to each of us.
Many blessings to your work!
