We all need water. It is the majority of what our bodies are made of. Water is everywhere and it supports life. Water is in the cells of every plant and animal. It is even in the air around us in the form of tiny droplets. Water flows through the soil underground and in the roots of the plant and trees. We come into contact with this amazing life giving substance repeatedly throughout our day, which gives us a great opportunity to offer Reiki to it.
Water is aware and able to hold memory at the cellular level. It has its own energy, just as all things do. The work of Masaru Emoto did much to bring this to light, though there is still much that cannot be accurately measured and reproduced scientifically. For all of human history, there has been an awareness among those connected to the Earth that water is conscious. It was respected as the living being it is and honored for the life it brought to us.
As healers, we have a lovely opportunity to renew the connection with water that was once known on this planet. By doing so, we not only reconnect ourselves to a vital resource of this Earth, but we awaken the connection to the water within our own cells, the cells of others, and the cells of our food. We also connect with the water flowing through the trees, which is then released through the leaves and back into our atmosphere, contributing to the creation of rain. The water cycle is never ending. Each drop of water will be transformed and renewed, falling as rain somewhere else many times over. Seeing it that way, the healing we offer water can travel a long way and help many.
Anyone can offer healing to water, simply by sending thoughts of love, compassion and harmony to it whenever we are around it. Reiki practitioners can channel Reiki into the water as well. This will help to clear any harmful energies the water has come into contact with, re-harmonizing it with the energies of the Divine. When I do this, I set the intention for the Reiki to flow for the greatest and highest good, so that the water may carry the Reiki forward to any that need it as it flows and changes. In offering Reiki to the water, we are helping many. We are helping all.
To offer Reiki to water, you can simply offer a moment of Reiki to each glass of water you drink, or to the water you collect for the day’s use. Offer Reiki to the water in your shower or bath, and the water you use to cook and clean. It is very nice to use the symbols, but it is not essential. Use your own guidance with regard to the use of the symbols and which ones to use. I love to use them, especially when I am taking a bath and have the luxury of time and a full tub of water. Particularly since soaking in a tubful of Reiki-charged water is quite blissful!
The most important thing is to have a loving and respectful intention, both toward Reiki and water, as well as all the beings and locations the water will touch after it leaves you. Try to sense and envision your deep interconnection as you allow Reiki to flow through you. To me, it is like a very blessed prayer. My time in the tub or the shower feels very sacred and holy because of the connection I feel to the water, the Divine and all things on the Earth. Offering Reiki and prayer deepens this and opens me to the Universe.
