Reiki Rays

Motivate Yourself to Practise Reiki Everyday

Articles

4 Dec 2014

A client of mine who is also a Reiki practitioner expressed her frustration at not being able to keep up with Reiki practice. And she is not the first one facing this issue. It would not be an exaggeration to say that at least 80% (possibly even more) of people who are attuned to Reiki do not practise daily self healing. Have you ever wondered why this is so? What goes wrong midway? Why do people lose the motivation to practise? The same people who are thrilled about getting a Reiki attunement and becoming Reiki healers lose their enthusiasm. They begin to treat daily self healing as yet another task to accomplish.

The root cause of this widespread problem in the Reiki community is a lack of understanding about how Reiki works. Reiki is not a magic pill. It is a way of life. Why do we brush our teeth and take a shower? We don’t need a reason to brush and shower. So is it with Reiki. We do not practise Reiki because we want to witness miracles every day. We practise it because it is meant to be practised every day. A Reiki self healing is like a shower for the energy body.

The occurrence of miracles is a by product of Reiki practice and not the goal. Soul mates may not appear within a week of practice. Illnesses do not disappear with one healing session. And life does not transform into an unbelievable miracle overnight. A lot of people come into Reiki practice with such hopes and tend to believe that Reiki will solve all their problems in a jiffy. However, it is not Reiki’s job to create miracles for us. It is our job. If this is not understood, people lose the will to practise. Even when someone says they cannot find the time to practise, the underlying reason is that Reiki did not live up to their misconstrued expectations. If Reiki could indeed create miracles everyday while we sat back and did nothing, even the busiest and laziest among us would find the time and energy to practise!

This is not to discount the blessings that Reiki brings us. Reiki does bring us amazing blessings. It can help us find our soul mates, heal our illnesses and transform our difficulties into opportunities. But notice the wording: Reiki can help US. We need to do our homework too, which means we take responsibility for our lives. And the moment we take responsibility, Reiki helps us create miraculous and purposeful lives. It does this by helping us shake off toxic energies and stepping up our vibration. When our energies are clean and pure, we experience more power and freedom. We become masters of our destinies. Expecting Reiki to do all the work, while we sit back and relax, just does not help.

The best way to allow Reiki to help us is to practise daily self healing. A small shift in perspective will help us see that daily self healing is not such a difficult task after all. We do not have to fast or do penance. We are not required to do complicated rituals or difficult meditation practices. All that is required is that we relax for about forty minutes and bask in a cocoon of warm healing energy (with soothing music and aromatic incense if you please). It is like indulging in a divine spa therapy in the comfort of home every day! How much easier can things get? Think about it.

We owe this time for daily self healing to ourselves. Life is not about always rushing around to get things accomplished, meeting everyone’s needs but our own and not having even a moment to ourselves. In fact, it is quite the opposite. The more quality time we give ourselves, the more everyone around us benefits too. When we are committed to daily Reiki practice, we are high in energy and spirit. We have more love to share, more joy to spread and more miracles to create. We may face challenges along the way, but we also acquire the power to turn each of our challenges into opportunities for growth.

My dear friends, do hurry up and fasten your seat belts! You don’t want to waste a moment more. You signed up for this exciting journey and also got your ticket during the attunement. So, what are you waiting for? Board the plane to Reiki Land and fly high!

I was just attuned last month in a Reiki I class. Although I’ve found it to be very helpful so far, it’s hard to keep practicing because I feel lost doing it on my own. I need guidance while I await my Reiki II class, but I don’t know where to turn.

      Hello Happy Soul,
Is the Reiki Master who attuned you to level 1 available for you to communicate with? There might possibly be groups in your area that you can join that would be more than happy to help you along the beautiful path you are taking.

      Hi Happy Soul,
As suggested by Karen, you can either communicate with your teacher or find groups in your area that you can join. If you do some research, you may even find online groups and support.
Thank you Karen for your suggestion.

      Happy Soul,

Do not worry. That sounds familiar (smile). Think of it like this: hands on, Reiki on. I find it easy to do a self healing when I go to bed at night. Try to empty your mind of all thoughts. If you have trouble starting invite in the support of your Reiki guides, spirit guides, angels, archangels and ascended masters then just put your hands on wherever you feel the most need. For me, sometimes that is my crown, brow, ears, throat or heart center, and then I just work my way down. More times than not, I fall asleep and wake a bit later with my hands at the spot I last ended.

I enjoy reading your posts and have learnt so much from them. They have also reminded me of things which I once knew but have forgotten in this busy life we all lead. One of my resolutions for this year is to try and slow down and weed out the unnecessary things I do which “waste” time. many thanks again and blessings.

Thank you for this thoughtful and appropriate article! I think perhaps often as healers, we tend to put ourselves towards the bottom of the priority list! Your article stated in a fresh way that it is truly necessary for us to practice self-healing first, to make us more effective healers for others-as well as to keep our vibrations high, which in turn, helps ourselves and everyone around us! 🙂 Thank you for your words!!

Great article. This article subject is one that I continue to express to all of my Reiki students. One additional option I suggest when there is little time available to practice self Reiki: every morning before you get out of bed, place your hands on your heart chakra and give yourself Reiki for 5 minutes. It is simple and quick and it works. Enjoy!

    4:-Di ko myo

Is the sequence correct for self healing or it should be in reverse order i.e. 4 3 2 1

Thabk you for all your articles. During the last couple of years of giving reiki to others, I felt I was receiving reiki as I was giving to others – so was not giving myself a full reiki session. Then one day I had a cancellation – the music was on, the incense was burning, the table was set up – might as well give myself reiki. It was as if another person was giving me a session. I surprised myself at how great it felt. Since then, I treat myself, just as I would treat someone who came for reiki. I do this a couple times a week and in between give myself shorter sessions before falling asleep.

I am understanding how true this is on so many levels …for physical healing to occur – the spirit must first heal – as Usui himself learned and taught … a gradual process. Continued treatment, daily treatment …you might obtain spontaneous healing – it does happen, but I think mostly it does not. I am still young in Reiki …I hope I never loose my zeal

I want to share my experience. I’m 2nd degree reiki healer. There is one tulsi plant(hearbl) at my home. Due to high atmospheric temperature it dry up fully. Not a single green leaf left on that plant. After learning 2nd degree i start giving healing to tulsi plant with positive thoughts, you all can’t believe after 4-5 days the plant which lost all d sign of healthy property, new green buds start growing and new green leaves are also start growing. It’s divine energy which is working not us, we are only the medium. Alas, miracle happens to those who believe in trueness, ourself, awareness.

The reason we shower/brush our teeth everyday is because of the consequences if we don’t. The immediacy and the outcomes are different from practicing reiki.

It is possible that people don’t practice self-healing, because reiki practice as being sold can complex and involved. Is it possible for someone to connect to source without all the drama of specific sitting positions, specific hand movements, specific words (in another language) and specific signs and symbols?

I am so disenchanted with reiki masters who attune you, and that’s all! No further help, occasionally a reiki share but basically and I do not like saying this or thinking it but show me the money and you’re off! Reiki rays is a constant source of information!!! The E books, the articles, websites and even social media. I have to ask myself why doesn’t everybody experience the teachings, attunments of Reiki Rays? Consider me as one of your greatest fan. Much appreciation and blessings to all of you.
