As Reiki practitioners, working on our chakras is an ongoing part of our lives.
Through Reiki practice, we strive to bring harmony and balance to our physical and energy bodies.
Some Reiki practitioners report that they hardly feel the energy flowing through their root and sacral chakras. This was true for me when I was a new Reiki practitioner too, but it changed when I commenced my journey in ‘Womb Healing.’ Now, I do feel the energy flowing through my sacral and root chakras.
Some possible reasons for this poor flow of energy could be –
- Many of us who are spiritually inclined easily connect to our higher chakras. It is our human self and life on Planet Earth that we have a hard time connecting to. Both the root and sacral chakras are strongly associated with our earthly life.
- Many of us carry deep and painful wounds in both of these chakras – wounds related to fears and emotions, survival, sexuality, pregnancy and childbirth. These wounds may have clogged our lower chakras to such an extent that is hard to feel a good flow of energy through them.
In women, the Womb is the corresponding physical component of the sacral chakra. So, the wounds of the sacral chakra are connected to the womb and believed to have an impact on it.
When we talk of healing the womb, we mean healing associated wounds of the sacral chakra and freeing up the sacral chakra, so the physical womb can be freed up too. Sometimes, this can also mean healing the emotional body – especially for women who may have had a surgical removal of their womb for medical reasons.
I believe a free womb is a healthy and happy womb.
Depending on the kind of trauma one stores in the womb, different healing approaches may be required to facilitate deeper healing. However, learning how to connect to the womb is a helpful first step.
A simple ‘Womb Love’ meditation I present in this article will help you establish a connection with your womb first.
Connecting to my womb has been a beautiful experience for me.
As you connect, you may find that she (your womb) has a consciousness of her own.
You may also find some womb trauma resolving spontaneously and some being brought into your awareness for release and healing. In the latter case, you may have to follow up with more inner work of your choice to facilitate deeper healing.
Remember, what I am sharing here is just the first step to teach you connect to your womb from a space of love.
Healing the womb is a genre in itself and may require extensive work if you choose to explore it further.
For now, you can get started with this meditation.
When To Do This Meditation
You may choose to do this meditation just prior to or after a Reiki self-healing. However, you don’t necessarily have to combine it with Reiki practice. You can do it separately at another time too. Different things work for different people. So, just do whatever works best for you.
Benefits of Womb Work & Reiki
Womb Work enhances our journey with Reiki. By bringing in a new untapped dimension, it facilitates deeper healing of the sacral chakra, allows free flow of energy through that region and opens up many new possibilities.
It’s highly recommended you do the ‘Womb Love’ meditation once every day until connecting to your womb begins to feel very natural.
If you are a man and you resonate with this, you may still do this process and reap some benefits. When you do the meditation, place your focus on your sacral chakra and/or a corresponding organ that you feel guided to work on.
Womb Love Meditation For Beginners
- Sit or lie down comfortably.
- Take a few deep breaths until you feel centered.
- Place your palms on your heart chakra and tune in to the frequency of love. Breathe into this love for a minute or two.
- When you feel sufficiently tuned in to the love frequency, move your palms to your womb space and let them rest there for as long as you feel guided to. You are now transferring this love energy into your womb.
- Notice how this process feels. There is nothing you need to do for now except enjoy this new way of connecting to your womb.
- If there is something you feel like saying to your womb, please do so. And if you get a message in return, receive it with gratitude. If you don’t wish to say anything, just connecting in silence is great!
- When the process feels complete, express gratitude for this significant milestone on your healing journey. You are now an awakening woman, developing consciousness of her womb and building a brand new high vibrational relationship with it. You are tuning into the power of your Divine Feminine.
- Open your eyes and move your body gently.
Remember, in order to connect to your womb, it doesn’t matter how old you are or what stage of womanhood you are in. It doesn’t matter even if your physical womb has been removed for medical reasons. The energetic imprint of your womb shall always remain and you can connect to it energetically.
Enjoy!
