Allergic rhinitis (AR) is an atopic disease which can progress towards asthma and conjunctivitis, if not healed. The classical symptoms of AR include nasal congestion and sneezing. This condition may be seasonal (as in response to certain allergens like pollen etc.) or chronic. The conventional treatments include antihistamines (like Allegra, Monticope, etc.) and/or intranasal corticosteroid sprays, but these may have several contraindications in the long term. Hence, it is important to address the issue at the grassroots level to heal it for good.
I had this condition for years, though I never resorted to antihistamines because of my personal beliefs and choices. However, I used to wonder why I would sneeze throughout the year at any random time of the day, since I did not have a common cold. I was already onto my Reiki journey, so it struck me that I could use Reiki to heal this issue. Since most allergies are due to an imbalance in the Heart chakra, I reasoned that my Heart chakra needed more catharsis followed by revamping.
Here is an exercise I did to heal my Heart chakra:
- I sat down quietly with my eyes closed in a silent room and directed my attention onto my Heart chakra.
- I focused myself to the point where all the racing thoughts were shut down and I was merely the consciousness watching over.
- I then visualized all the negative emotions leaving my Heart chakra in the form of grey smoke and merging into nihility. This stirred up several agonizing memories, and I saw the offenders again.
- All of this was happening in a trance like condition where I continued to watch the smoke and the emotions moving out. I did not resist anything and allowed myself to just exist, without judging anything.
- After doing this over several days consistently, the smoke was gone and I felt completely relieved. My breathing became smooth and rhythmic. At this point, I visualized my Heart chakra being filled with pink light radiating outwards. I felt connected to the Universe and filled with joy and peace. I was no longer carrying the burdens of the painful memories. In the parlance of energy workers, I fell in alignment to the state of flow, trust and relaxation.
As I was persisting with the above exercise, I was drawn to certain new dietary changes and supplements. Being a nutritionist, I always combine Reiki practice with the best power-packed foods, especially fresh fruits and vegetables. I also included sunlight as a part of my healing regimen as I am a huge advocate of the curative powers of the sun. Taken together, I can attest that Reiki led me to the things that brought about healing my allergic rhinitis completely. It has been six months since I last sneezed and I have not looked back.
The bottom line is, it is possible to heal completely, no matter how intractable it seems and what the name of the disease is. When you are in energetic alignment, you are empowered to find liberation from everything that needs to leave because you no longer resonate with it. So the challenge is to live carpe diem, shatter the matrix of three dimensional limitations and stay in the pristine state where no disease can touch your body or mind.
