What is your “right” spiritual path? Frequently, clients comment they are not certain if they are on the spiritual path meant for them. This is based in a belief there is only one correct spiritual path predetermined for each person. The endpoint is reached when the person is doing the right thing – whether it is the right profession, right religion or spiritual belief system, right love relationship, the list goes on. Let us examine this belief. And let us consider the possibility that there is more than one possible path for each of us.
Probably, each of us has pondered this question – what is my spiritual path supposed to be? We ask the question, seeking the correct path. We may not understand we have free will and we have choices to make. Stating an intention is essential. When the intention to live a purposeful life is connected to the Universal Life Force, positive options will be revealed. Frequently, the choices we are considering are all good – any choice would be part of our spiritual path.
For example, you may be thinking about offering Reiki trainings to your clients and anyone else who desires to give Reiki. But you know this could take many hours away from your young children. You may be thinking one of these choices is right, and the other one is wrong. However, another perspective is that either one of these will have strong positive effects on your trainees and/or your children. Your trainees’ lives could be positively affected by giving Reiki to others and themselves. Although your children may have less time with you, they will also learn from your example of teaching others how to bring more healing energies into today’s world. Both options are good options – there is no right or wrong.
Could one option be better than another, though? The answer to this is yes, although there are times when several options are close. There are several ways to find your better option:
- Determine your true heart’s desire. Our hearts hold our inner love and wisdom. What is your passion? What would fulfill you and make you happy? Journal, meditate, create this path in your mind – do whatever you need to do to identify this desire. Ask for your heart to open to all possibilities.
- Once identified, imagine what it would look like. If you decided to offer Reiki trainings, imagine your teaching space – can you teach a class in the same space where you do sessions? Do you need to rent a conference room? How many trainees can you teach at one time? Imagine yourself in front of the group, passing on the gift of Reiki.
- Absorb the energy of the scenario. Feel your passion, your excitement, the excitement of the trainees. Let this energy propel you to this work! Feel your heart energies soar.
When this happens, you know you are on a fulfilling spiritual path. Finding your spiritual path is a process – and the process itself is part of the spiritual path. What you feel called to do now may change over time, as one activity can evolve into another.
The Universe has provided a complex, wonderful world in which we live. There are many, many opportunities for each of us to bring healing into this world that needs it so much right now. We can create healing every time we connect to the Universe, in whatever format it is. For those of us who work with Reiki, we know in our hearts it is an especially strong spiritual path. This path enables us to serve others and bring more compassion and healing into the world.
