I always enjoy sharing with other practitioners the things I find positive about my healing practice. Even though lately I have dedicated a lot of time to offer courses and workshops on different techniques, I have never stopped practicing Reiki since I’m passionate about it and it gives me a lot of satisfaction.
All Reiki practitioners who have taken the second level of Reiki know how to send Reiki at a distance with the use of the third symbol. We also know that the Reiki session usually takes place in silence, at most with some background music accompanying the healing.
With the social isolation that is mandatory in my country, I noticed that my clients needed more than sending Reiki from a distance since personal participation has been forbidden. This caused me to start working differently and transforming it into a daily practice.
Some clients expressed to me their difficulty in connecting with healing, while others said they missed the healing space of the session, and these were the reasons this began.
The new way of doing the sessions at a distance
This new way of doing the sessions at a distance, unlike sending Reiki at any time, we organize it as if it was a session in-person, with a previous appointment.
- I have sent to my regular clients the audio file of the music I use in my Reiki sessions.
- Then, I tell them to prepare the place by lighting up some candles or incenses, playing the music already sent, and connecting via WhatsApp call.
- We have a short talk as if the client was coming to the session in-person, and we start preparing for the session.
- I start the session as if the person is here. In fact, I do it in the healing room and with the Reiki table in front of me.
- I start the session by asking for protection and guidance for my client and me, and applying the formula of sending Reiki at a distance.
- From there, I begin to place my hands on the Reiki table visualizing the person there, as we leave the WhatsApp call open, I tell the client what position I am in. For example, now I will bring my hands on your chest, and so on until I reach the feet and make the final sweeping.
- Once the session is over, I ask him to open his eyes and start to slowly come back in and we have a short talk about how the client was feeling, just as if she or he was attending in-person.
When I started with this methodology, the response was immediate, both from clients who were already asking me to schedule a new session and from new clients recommended by them. People from other cities who previously did not attend due to social distancing began to join, and now people from other countries are also finding this modality as a way to access the sessions that they could not attend before due to economic issues or the availability of the technique or their daily schedules.
One of the first persons that I supported in this way wrote me this the next day of the session: “Gustavo, this was wonderful, I really transported myself there, I felt as if I was in your place receiving the healing, I don’t have words, how I missed this!”
This approach gave me the necessary impulse to spread it and start working like this. For those who are limited by this pandemic to attend in-person, I invite you to try this modality. I assure you that you will feel much more connected and will be able to continue vibrating in the wonderful frequency of Reiki.
For those of you who want to receive Reiki healing and are limited by the need to travel to the healer’s location, feel free to share this with your therapist and start enjoying your sessions from your own space.
I hope that this contribution opens as many doors for you as it has done for me. I feel the joy of supporting people who are thousands of miles away. When we put technology at our service, these options appear.
Blessings to all, and may the Light continue to guide our hearts to build a better life for us all.
