Many times in these 16 years since I offer Reiki healing sessions I have had doubts but every time the answers come quickly if we allow it to be so.
Some of my Level II Reiki students voluntarily participate in the distant Reiki group I organize and the years of experience in this practice have taught us to take certain precautions, healthy for the group and for the practice itself, holding in mind our greatest intentions. Today we decided to share them with you in case they may assist your own spiritual path. Pay attention and integrate or simply discard them if they don’t resonate with you.
One of the first things we learned, and we can say it wasn’t pleasant learning it, is that ALWAYS the persons who receive Reiki must give their consent; even if those who receive are the same with those who ask for it. In the case of minors or unconscious people, a direct family member is allowed to ask for Reiki in their name but when this happens, start the healing session by asking for permission to send distant Reiki from their soul or higher self. If they don’t want to receive that healing energy, ask to be sent to heal our planet.
Another issue, not less important than the previous one, is to send distant Reiki only for those persons or circumstances in which Reiki cannot be done in person. In our group situation, sending distant Reiki is a voluntary action (there is no charge for it) and some people might want to take advantage of it. Due to this reason, we are very decisive that the energy balance is necessary and the person continues his treatment in person as soon as possible wherever feels guided to. As part of this “energy exchange”, the person who requests distant Reiki needs to provide feedback about the evolution of the receiver.
If there are simultaneous distant Reiki requests, depending on the number and gravity of the case, the whole group or just a part of it will participate in order to distribute the requests without saturating us in our practice. Furthermore, we can also establish sending distant Reiki for 7 consecutive days and continue only if necessary, based on the feedback we receive. Usually, when people feel better, they “forget” to notify and continue their healing sessions in person.
Finally, we have agreed on a way to make the Reiki requests and that is, in case of people, “whatever is best for him or her”, and in case of situations, “what is best for all involved”, so that we don’t place our own healing desires above the free will of the Soul.
It is important that who receives Reiki do it along with the commitment to do his own healing work on what causes the imbalance. Part of our work as Reiki practitioners is to accompany the person in that healing process but NOT to do the work for him. That’s why it’s very important for distant Reiki not becoming a way of not leaving your comfort zone.
A very interesting topic is what happens with the environment of those who receive Reiki. Recently we were sending distant Reiki to a newborn baby who was in the ICU of neonatology. His mother requested healing energy for him but we all felt the mother needed Reiki more than the little one who was fighting for his life. Once we asked for permission, we started sending distant Reiki holding the intention that the best happens both for him and his mother, may that she find the strength to cope with that situation in the best way for everyone. It was impressive how it felt to accompany that mother!
Finally, as I always say to my students, let yourself be guided, ask for your guides’ support if you have doubts about something and in one way or another you will start noticing small signs of response. Have faith in this energy that goes through each of us thanks to Reiki. It’s not only healing or inner strength but also knowledge, empathy, feeling. It is full divine consciousness.
From my heart, holding the best intention for each and every one of you all!
