As we move fully into the autumn season, this is the perfect time to contemplate the natural Law of Rhythm. The four seasons of the year are a reminder that everything in the Universe follows a natural course, due to vibrational changes. Just as the earth revolves in a certain pattern every year, so do our lives.
Every day has sunrise, full sunlight, the dusk of sunset and darkness. Every week has seven days, and every year has 365 days – except for leap year, when another day is added to allow for the extra hours in each year of the earth’s rotation. Every human life has stages of development – from embryo, to baby, to toddler, to childhood, etc. We have daily cycles of sleep and being awake.
When we resist these natural rhythms, we create problems within our lives. How many times have we stated: “I hate winter (or summer, or any other season)”; “I enjoyed motherhood when my kids were little”; “I wish I was 30 years old again”; “Why can’t every day be Saturday?”
Reiki brings much awareness into our lives, when we allow it. Reiki is a great teacher of living within the Law of Rhythm. When receiving Reiki, the first thing, for most people, is to realize the steady calmness and relaxation that exists in our world. Rather than moving at a busy, rapid pace that our modern world promotes, we slow down and connect to the Universal Consciousness. We become familiar and comfortable with this new serenity, and we desire to bring it into our everyday lives. We discover noise and chaos can be lessened, if we become intentional.
This requires living in the present moment – the most important aspect of living within the natural rhythm of life. When we leave the past in the past, and do not spend much time thinking about the future, natural rhythms become easier to identify and to live within. We learn to appreciate what is happening in our lives, right now.
The Law of Rhythm permeates into every aspect of our lives, creating the ebb’s and flow’s of our everyday experiences. There will be days when we feel we have accomplished a great deal at work, and there will be times when it seems nothing at all was achieved. In our love relationships, we will have times of great communion and joy and times of frustration.
The ebb’s and flow’s also include our practice of Reiki. Let’s be honest! Each experience of receiving Reiki includes times of awesome connectedness to the Universe and times of seemingly insignificant happenings. Likewise, our experiences of giving Reiki to others can seem quite astonishing or rather unmemorable. But, be assured, Reiki always brings some form of healing and calmness to the receiver.
The Law of Rhythm touches every aspect of the human experience.
Our lives consist of many ebb’s and flow’s, hour to hour, day to day, year to year. As we grow in awareness of the natural Law of Rhythm our acceptance grows and resistance decreases – a wonderful way to approach life!
