A Personal Story of Reiki

For me, Reiki was a life altering find. As a child I was born with extrasensory perception. I could feel when something was right or wrong for me, like an internal truth detector. I resisted indoctrination by religion and education as both felt very much out of alignment with my soul. Shame & suppression were often the training tools of these institutions & my child heart felt this was not in integrity and therefore not worthy of my attention. It’s actually quite a gifted perception for a 5 year old, knowing what we know of the corruption of these institutions today, but this went misunderstood. While parents can be well meaning when they attempt to fix their children “for their best good” there is always a loser in this mentality and that is typically the defenseless child. Drugs and labels were used to define my non-compliance and my gifts were suppressed until I became an adult and was ready to face my trauma and recover what I could of my authenticity.

What I loved best about Reiki is I could believe in something that did not cancel out the beliefs of another. All spiritual, philosophical and religious beliefs can exist alongside Reiki and Reiki still holds it’s truth & integrity. That’s something I genuinely needed in my spiritual practice and I love it with all my heart. In 2012 I could feel the changes as we moved from the Piscean Age into the Aquarian Age on Dec 21. This was the catalyst of my awakening. I embraced this energy and began a transformation into a healer that changed the course of my life dramatically & for the better. At the heart of this transformation was the Art and Practice of Reiki.

I found my Reiki Master/Teacher by Googling her. She had 25 years of experience with Reiki, was very knowledgeable, and was running a successful Reiki business out of her home. When I met her that day I looked around her home and realized I had finally found what I was meant to do. It was an intense Knowing and after so many years of suppression and shame of who and what I am, I embraced it wholeheartedly, and I would never look back. She attuned me to Reiki Level 2 on 7/11/12.

On that day, despite having practically zero experience running a business or practicing Reiki, I could feel I was meant for this and I was just supposed to do it and not be afraid. And I listened! I silenced the voices, in my mind, of all those who told me, for years, it wasn’t ok to embrace the Heavenly Mother, or not ok to feel my feelings, or you’re not living your life according to the rules or you really need to be better. Even the voice that said this is outside your religion & you’re risking damnation of your eternal soul…I ignored it all.

I trusted the innocent 5 year old inside me who said these beliefs were wrong for me. Why? Because when I trusted the instincts and guidance of this part of me 100% I realized that Innocence IS my Higher Self and She knows EXACTLY what is best but also what I Desire. She meets my needs, makes sure I have a good life that I love. She guides me to work on myself. To work through my traumas and for that I have become happy in a way that transformed the beliefs of all those people in my life who attempted to change and alter me because even they could see their ways were not better for me than the ways that came directly from my heart.

Reiki cleared my body and mind of an enormous amount of programming that we all tend to be exposed to from early childhood on. What many people don’t see is our society treats the beliefs of our children like commodities. Our beliefs are actually really big business. I recommend Reiki for those who want to hit the reset button on their egos and begin to rebuild themselves into something that resembles their authentic self. I feel Reiki is important for healing anyone who experiences addiction, OCD, PTSD, & other mental and emotional issues. Unresolved Trauma is at the heart of so many of these afflictions as the behaviors are coping mechanisms for survival. We’d literally not be adults if we didn’t learn to cope with trauma as children so there is much to be grateful for with these issues that protect us even though these unwanted behaviors may hurt our ability to have healthy relationships in our adulthood. Reiki can help us to lovingly integrate our experiences and then help us reprogram too! It’s such a blessing to the world!

How a person responds to Reiki is different for everyone. It’s difficult to tell a new person what Reiki will help them with, because of this. Reiki always helps what is needed rather than what the client often wants worked on because the concept of their issues can be very different from what is actually out of balance, especially if they are extremely unaware of their own emotions and desires. For this reason I tend to focus on Chakras when I work with clients. Chakras are a wonderful tool for understanding the basic operating system of a human body, mind & spirit. Chakras take all aspects of a human into consideration & in multiple dimensions, too. At the end of the session most people feel very calm, relaxed, and open. I love to see that in people. That’s what we all were like until the darkness of the world relieved us of our innocence. I like to think and feel I’m doing a small part to not only rescue their inner child from their early experiences but that I am also rescuing my own, so maybe our children will never know the pain of not belonging or not having unconditional love in their lives, in the generations to come.

It’s been 7 years since I attuned to Reiki and started my Reiki business & career full time. It’s been a miraculous experience of synchronicity! When I started utilizing the energy of Reiki I began to see the magic that’s still very evident and available at our fingertips, if we’d just believe. I look back on all that I have worked through, and while it was painful at the time, I’m so strong today I can manifest and create my dreams and desires with stunning ease and comfort. I live just like I had always wanted to live when I was a child. I highly recommend Reiki for anyone looking to release old patterns and programs. I recommend it for people starved for touch and connection. I recommend Reiki for those in pain & those in fear.
