How to Clean Your Home with Reiki

Articles

Article by Kristina Smith

One of the things that I love the most about Reiki is its adaptability. Reiki is a healing modality which can be used in multiple situations, and in multiple ways. It seems as if there is an endless number of ways that I can integrate Reiki into my daily life. I heal myself, my partner, and my children with Reiki. I heal our animal companions with Reiki. I have used Reiki to heal the Earth, the past, current situations, and I have even sent Reiki into the future to help myself and others in situations that have yet to occur. I have used Reiki to heal people all over the world, as I am sure most practitioners have as well. However, one of my favorite ways to use Reiki is to clean my home with it. Yes, you read that correctly…I clean my home with Reiki! Let me explain how.

Years ago, in an effort to reduce the amount of chemicals that I expose myself, my family, and my animal companions to, I started making my own household cleaners. It is incredibly inexpensive and easy to do. Baking soda (also called Sodium Bicarbonate) and white vinegar will clean just about everything in your home. I used these two ingredients for months before I began learning about the cleansing and purifying abilities of essential oils. Tea Tree, Lemon, Clove, and Orange essential oils are all very useful and widely used in commercial cleaning products, so I began adding a few drops into my homemade cleaners. The wonderful aroma from these oils is an added bonus to their powerful cleaning abilities.

As I began learning about Reiki, I wanted to use it as much as possible to acclimate myself to the energies I had been attuned to. I began sending Reiki to my cleaning sprays. Now, when I make my cleaners, I also infuse each ingredient I use with Reiki, as well as sending Reiki to the completed product.

I will share with you today a recipe that I created for an all around cleaner. Feel free to adapt this to suit your own purposes, based on your own intuition and knowledge of essential oils. Vinegar and water alone, in a 50/50 ratio, is a wonderful cleaning solution on its own.

Reiki Infused All Purpose Cleaner

  • 16 oz. spray bottle (Glass is preferred, as essential oils may damage plastic bottles. However, I personally have used plastic spray bottles with no problems.)
  • White Vinegar
  • Water (Filtered is preferred, but tap water may be used)
  • Essential oils of choice (Lemon, Orange, Pine, Clove, Tea Tree, and Peppermint are all great choices)
  • Pinch of Sea Salt (optional)
  • Clear Quartz crystal chips (optional)

Infuse the white vinegar with Reiki. You may use any symbols you like. I use the CKR and DKM. Add vinegar to bottle until half full. Infuse Reiki into the water, using any symbols you like. (Again, I use CKR and DKM). Add the water until the bottle is almost full, leaving space to shake the bottle before each use. If you wish to stop here, you may. However, if you would like to add essential oils, infuse them with Reiki as well. (I infuse all of my essential oils separately as I receive them, again from time to time as I am intuitively guided, and once more before using them in aromatherapy or cleaning products.) If you would like to add sea salt (which purifies negativity) or clear quartz crystals (which dispels negativity and amplifies the energy around it) infuse these with Reiki as well. Add the remaining ingredients, and close the spray bottle. Infuse the entire solution and shake to combine. I also send more Reiki into the cleaning solution and shake well before each use. This is a POWERFUL cleaner which will clean your home physically and metaphysically. It can be used on countertops, appliances, floors (do not use on hardwood floors or surfaces), sinks, glass and windows.

If you do not wish to make your own household cleaners, be assured that you can infuse any commercially purchased cleaner with Reiki!

The healing, restorative, and purifying powers of Reiki will now flow into your home every time you clean. You may even find that you enjoy cleaning your house more. May your home be filled with love and light.

Very good idea. I also energize broom and mops and the water used for mopping.

Such a good way to cleanse the spaces and the energies. Have been using vinegar and essential oils for cleaning, but did not think to add crystals and energize with Reiki ! Thanks for the recipe!
