Reiki is often referred to as channeling energy. Many people debate over where the energy is being channeled from, or what the energy is, but the general idea is often that something is being channeled by or through the Reiki practitioner. This is what I believed when I first began practicing, and I still think it is a valid way of looking at Reiki. However, I have come to think of Reiki as more than that.
I now think of Reiki as something much deeper and closer to us than that. It is much larger than channeling something separate from us, outside of ourselves. Reiki—Universal Life Force Energy—is already within us and all around us. Our systems already have the ability to heal themselves and our minds the ability to return to balance. Our spiritual energy has the ability to remember its union with the energy of all life, both Earthly and Cosmic.
Our subconscious minds, or Higher Selves, have never forgotten this although our personality selves lose sight of it repeatedly as we explore the world. The Universal Life Force Energy is always aware that we are actually whole and holds space for us to return to wholeness whenever we are ready.
When we do a Reiki treatment, we are entering a place of sacred space holding. We are opening that place within us and all around us that remembers our wholeness and light. We get quiet and still as space opens and the healing energy flows in its gentle and subtle way. Some part of us remembers that we already have the Universal Life Force Energy within our hearts and in every cell of our bodies. Our bodies remember this and respond.

As we hold the space for healing, the energy within us connects and activates the natural healing response already present within the recipient of the session. Even if only for the space of the session, on some level they are reminded who they are—that they are whole and part of something beautiful. They have the flicker of memory that they too carry the energy of Universal Life Force within them. They feel the support and love of the energy that creates, supports and flows through all of life.
A Reiki session is holding space for this kind of re-connection to our true selves to take place. When we enter that space with great care and compassion for exactly where each person is on their journey, we can hold that space very well. However, we needn’t do anything more than intend to hold space in our hearts and minds for the Reiki session and the person’s highest possible healing. Then get quiet and let it happen. There is no need for us to do anything else but allow and listen as it happens very naturally.
While we can certainly see this as channeling, that implies that the energy is someplace outside of us. However, it is Universal Life Force Energy. We are within that Universe, and it is within us. You can feel it if you get still and quiet. It is outside and inside of us. There is no place it is not. So while you can see it as bringing it from outside of yourself, it is also already within.
Reiki practice activates what is already present, helping us to realign with our truth and our greatest health and balance. The attunement to Reiki and regular self-practice and meditation help us to begin to notice this, usually in glimpse and flashes of insight. By working with Reiki regularly, making it part of our lives, these flashes of insight become deep understanding over time.

Is this real?? I had a similar realization 2 days back about Reiki being present always and by attunement with each symbol we are like opening a lock to the storehouse of Reiki within us. And when we intent to heal people we do the same for them.

Actually every indigenous Witch Doctor or Sherman knew what it was and how to use it. They knew how to use Energy/ Frequency & Vibration to heal positive and remove dead and damaged cells within all living systems. Reiki is not Spiritual or something natural it is simply Energy/ Frequency & vibration created as sentences applied through the Physical into the Mental/ Emotional but when that happens the energy flow of a practitioner is reversed from Receiving to Giving out
