Who would have thought years ago that one could get addicted to clicking pictures of oneself? Well that is the latest addiction on the block.
Taking pictures is good they make for beautiful memories, but capturing oneself in the frame multiple times a day every day and then posting them on social media speak of a deeper energy imbalance. It speaks of extremely low self-esteem not just in adults but also young children. Narcissism is another reason for this obsession.
In the times we live in social acceptance is dependent on how we look and what we have materialistically. These are the indicators of success. Any pleasure pursued with a balance is good it becomes unhealthy when it becomes an addiction.
Parents and educationists can play a vital role in helping the child develop a healthy self – image and have high self-esteem. When our personal power is intact we will not feel the need to look for approval elsewhere, we will be guided by our heart.
Reiki practitioners can follow the steps mentioned below to heal this addiction.
Steps for the healing exercise:
- Thank the Divine Spirit, Reiki, Archangels, one’s own spirit guides, teachers, etc, for their protection, assistance and guidance in the healing process.
- Visualize Reiki (white light) energy enter through your / clients Crown chakra and see yourself / client, completely bathed in divine light (Reiki energy).
- Draw the Power, Distance and Mental / Emotional symbols (Master symbol if you have been attuned to it) and any other symbols you are guided to.
- Then focus on the Solar Plexus chakra (front & back). This chakra is where our self-esteem and personal power is seated. The health of this chakra determines whether we can be swayed by others opinions. Visualize this area first covered with white light, you may also affirm that all blocks are cleared draw the three symbols you have received in Reiki 2. Then visualize area in golden yellow light and affirm that the chakra is healthy.
- The next chakras to focus on are the Heart (when this chakra is unbalanced it shows lack of self-love and narcissism) and Sacral chakras and affirm self-love. Heart chakra when healthy is emerald green and Sacral is a vibrant orange.
- The final chakra to treat would be the Root chakra this is where our fear especially of the past and sense of belonging to the tribe / family is placed. This chakra when healthy is a vibrant red colour. Then affirm that you / the client is /are grounded.
- Complete the session by shielding with the Power Symbol.
Reiki 1 Practitioners can start with Step 1 and then do hand placements corresponding to the chakras mentioned above.
Reiki 2 & Reiki Masters who do not do chakra healing may follow steps 1, 2 & 3 and then affirm that you / the client is / are confident, love yourself and have high self- esteem.
Happy Healing!
