Talk about a massive year for me!! I’ve been diagnosed with Asperger’s, so finally, finally, FINALLY my life has fallen into place! I’m thrilled to have a ‘label’ even though I’m aware some people prefer not to be labelled. For me it’s been a HUGE relief. Life and my challenges thus far make sense to me, whereas before I could never understand why I was so different.
The diagnosis came about because of the time I spent in Brisbane, Qld, helping out my sister who has three Asperger’s children and her encouragement that I displayed traits.
My sister said that the direct and to the point speaking, and the sense of justice was very much an Asperger’s trait. It was something that had got me in trouble before in employment, because I was always so very forward and direct with bosses and it was never appreciated. It was like I was a pain in the backside for speaking the truth and speaking up. I’ve found it difficult to maintain friendships as well because as always I would be blunt and forward and people don’t tend to like it. I’ve always felt different. I’ve always felt I didn’t belong. Now I know why.

I went along to the doctor who referred me to a psychologist and there I did all sorts of tests and the result being I’m definitely on the autism spectrum. Finally an answer to why I am how I am… and so needless to say I’ve been sending reiki back to the past back to all those times I’ve run into issues and concerns. I’ve been sending Reiki to situations and to people and mainly to myself.
Even more now I love giving myself daily Reiki treatments as it helps me to calm down and helps me to relax so beautifully. I understand now why I am how I am but it doesn’t change who I am. Asperger’s is a neurological difference in the brain and that is what people seem to struggle with understanding.
So I’m sending on a daily basis Reiki out to absolutely everyone who suffers Asperger’s or autism and simply sending love and understanding. If that action alone can help one person, than I’m happy. It’s a condition that is misunderstood, without a doubt and somehow I hope to bring about awareness with Reiki assisting me.

My daughter was diagnosed 3 years ago with Autism(high functioning aspergers)
I have found reiki helps to calm her a lot, I give her reiki every day even when I am working away, I send with intention for her.

Hi Hendrika, thanks for your message. I am open about the Aspeger’s because I am not ashamed or upset. To many people still react as though its ‘taboo’ and so by changing stigma is a big part of my goal. Yes Tony Attwood is an Australian man (as I live in Australia) and is brilliant. Thank you Tammy, I recognise those traits in me and so has my Dr. I’m about to do my second consultation questionnaire for Aspergers.
Reiki is wonderful, I love it. Daily Reiki self healing definitely, its calming and quietly joyous and much, much more, peaceful.

Hi Nat, the advantage for me was just knowing. With knowledge I have been able to research and learn and to love myself for being me without feeling like a freak. I’ve known I was aspergillosis for some time however it’s only in last 12 months I discovered I have a very real ability to heal. Except I call it Brain Every. I AN currently in process of healing my partners Stiff person syndrome. (SPS) If you Google it you will find out what a violently painful condition it is, I can stop the spasms which from what I’ve seen on Internet every other SPS sufferer has to wait for Spasm to stop of it own accord,which in lot cases can last up to 3 days. In my younger days I may of been a nightmare (specially on alcohol but the me of today can heal people. I would never wish I’m not aspergers because it’s who I am and have always been…. I’m proud to be Aspergers
