You may have noticed that colors feel very soothing or that a particular color pulls you to it at certain times. Most of us recognize that we resonate more with one color or a group of colors than others. They match our frequency best and so they feel most compatible with us.
When we are ill or are having emotional or mental difficulty, using color can help speed the healing process. The use of color in healing is used by hospitals and is included in their design plans because research has shown it to be so important in influencing the outcome of patient healing and in creating a calm and positive work environment as well.
Whether you are doing a self healing or working with a client, you can incorporate the use of color in several ways. As always, use your intuition. If you are drawn to a particular color for the healing session, then that is probably the color you are meant to use. Once you have chosen the color you would like to use, try one or more of the following tips for using it to enhance your healing session.
- Choose a blanket or a swatch or fabric in your chosen color. Simply lay it across the person being healed, over their chest, abdomen or legs.
- Choose one or more crystals of your chosen color. For example, if your chosen color is yellow, you could use citrine. Be sure the crystal you are using has been cleansed before the healing session and charged with healing intentions. Also make sure that you cleanse it again after the healing session.
- Use intention to infuse the healing session with the color you chose. For example, if you chose green, you can envision green light flowing into your client through their own crown chakra, through your hand and directly into the area you are treating. If there is a particular area that they are having difficulty with, then see this area surrounded and infused by the color that your intuition has guided you to use.
You can further enhance whatever method you choose by infusing it with the symbols, if you feel led to do so.
I find that I am often led to use gold, green, silver and especially purple in my healing work. These colors seem to carry a great deal of healing and cleansing properties. I am also frequently drawn to pink for mental and emotional healing work in particular, as well as for infusing a peaceful energy into a situation. Both pink and blue seem to carry a loving Divine Feminine energy. Trust that your own guidance will lead you to the color that is right for your situation.
Color will help you a great deal, regardless of which method you use. You will find that it brings a gentle but powerful boost and a feeling of peace to the session.
