While the celebration of this day originated in Mexico, it later spread to many countries like America as well as to Catholic cultures. The following meditation is free of religious content and based on the love for those who have passed away and can be our guides from another dimensional plane.
This meditation comes from the inspiration received during a Reiki session given to a person whose teenage son died in a traffic accident.
Due to the confidentiality between this person and me, I can only say:…Thank you, my friend, for this gift !!!
With deepest respect, I share with you this technique for individual or group use, preferably group.
It requires the person who guides the meditation to have, at least, a Second Level of Reiki.
Site preparation and recommendations for attendees.
Bring a photo or a framed picture of the person or persons you want to remember during this meditation. My personal recommendation is, that this memento be of loved ones whose absence still hurts or of those you particularly wish to remember.
The organizer will provide night candles in white, blue, or violet – these come with their individual holders – one candle per participant.
The site will be set up on a table or similar flat surface. All the photos will be placed on it together with the candles. First, the participants will light up their candles.
The attendees will sit in a semi-circle, facing the candles.
(Soft background music may be used).
The guide will sit at the center of the semicircle; he will place his right hand, palm down, and left hand, palm up. So will each participant, overlapping hands with the fellow attendees sitting on either side.
For convenience, the hands can rest on your knees if you are sitting with your legs crossed.
Once this is done, the meditation can begin.
Text and notes for guidance
Start by closing your eyes and taking three deep breaths, inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth. Ensure that air reaches your belly and then exhale all the air.
(At this point, the guide mentally projects the symbols 1, 3, 2, 1 on the first place over the candles and photos, and then over the participants).
(If the host has a Master Reiki Level or Third Level, he can project the symbol number 4 on the chest of each of the participants as well as his own).
Next, imagine a ray of golden light from the infinite universe coming into your minds, passing through your bodies, then expanding on the floor of the room, providing a relaxing feeling, cleansing your minds and filling you with peace.
With every breath, you will feel a sense of relaxation and experience deeper and deeper peace.
(Pause a minute)
Now, project this ray of light from your chest (solar plexus) to the location of the pictures. The golden rays of light converge from all participants to that one place.
(Pause a minute)
Say loudly:
The light of these candles illuminates and shines their Souls and our Souls. The peace of their Souls and our Souls, in communion, today, tomorrow and forever.
(Suggest to the participants at this moment to imagine sending a message to his/her loved one and he/she also says a word to them. That word is the keyword to be practiced in their lives throughout the coming days).
(Pause a minute)
Embrace the silence, and remember with joy some happy moments shared with your loved ones.
(Pause a minute)
To close,
Say the following sentence:
Like the light of the burning candles, brightening our hearts with our love for them, their peace is our peace; their light is our guide.
(The guide closes, projecting the image of the symbol 1 through the hands of all participants).
Place your hands on your chest.
Take three deep breaths once again. The participants can take their time opening their eyes, giving thanks for this wonderful opportunity.
