In today’s world, financial stress has become a common phenomenon. With the increasing cost of living, stagnant wages, and mounting debts, it is no surprise that people are finding it hard to maintain financial stability. The constant pressure of financial problems leads to anxiety, depression, and even physical health issues. If you are one of the many people struggling with financial stress, you can reach for your solution in Reiki.
Reiki has been used for centuries to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being, including managing financial stress. When life kicks us down, perhaps it is natural to stop our spiritual and self-care practices to concentrate all our energy on these pressing issues. But the irony is, the more calm and centered we are, the better decisions we make and we have the mental space to think straight in order to improve our situation. This just isn’t possible in the fight/flight/freeze mode.
Here are some ways that Reiki can help you achieve peace of mind and alleviate financial stress:
1. Relax
Taking the time to engage in relaxed, deep breathing, unwind your physical knots with stretching or yoga and calm the mind with your favorite meditation. Once you’ve calmed yourself, run through your self-care Reiki hand positions and use some essential oils such as lavender (relaxation), sandalwood (anti-anxiety), and lemon(mood lifter) in a burner or in a carrier oil on the skin.
2. Improve Mental Clarity
Financial stress can make it hard to think clearly and make good decisions. When you are constantly worried about money, it can be difficult to focus on anything else. Reiki and most spiritual practices remind us to trust in a higher power. It might be helpful to remember that you’ve been through trials in life before and come through them, as you will come through this. You will find a way to cope and manage and you will look back on this experience as a tough but soul-strengthening learning curve.
Releasing your mind from constant worry by asking your Spirit Guides for assistance or handing your worries to a Higher Power can ease your pressure enough to gain some mental clarity and this in turn may lead to seeing the situation differently or becoming aware of places or people who could help in some way.
3. Reduce Anxiety
Anxiety is a common symptom of financial stress. It can manifest as physical symptoms, such as a racing heart, shallow breathing, or tightness in the chest. Anxiety can dominate everything so it is important to address it head-on. Use the D.A.R.E. technique (please google for free information, or borrow the book. There’s also an app available with a free version that is very helpful) to get anxiety under control.
Please be sensible, if your anxiety is running away with you, don’t be afraid to ask a health professional for help and advice. There is no benefit to struggling on your own.
4. Use Your Reiki to Increase Your Financial Flow
Reiki Rays is full of useful resources that help you use your Reiki to help your financial situation. Whatever the issue; blocked income, heavy debts, or squeezed budget – sending the issues healing Reiki energy will help.
5. Improve Your Sleep
Remember to practice your Reiki just before sleep. This will bring you ten minutes of relaxation and get your focus off your finances just for a while. You can use this Evening Gassho meditation to help. When you are more relaxed, falling asleep and staying asleep throughout the night is easier.
The key takeaway from this is self-care. It is your passcode to peace of mind.
