How to Write Your Own Reiki Meditation Script

Articles· Practice

19 Apr 2023

You can create your very own Reiki meditation script to use for yourself, your friends, or your clients.

You can infuse your meditation with Reiki while writing it or send Reiki out to those that are present. Charge your words with the energy that is Reiki. If you are doing an in person meditation then you could move about the room and give mini Reiki healing, or, do everyone in the room throughout the session.

First, pick the goal of your meditation. Is it for relaxation, to help aid in sleep, or to calm anxiety? Meditation scripts are really short stories, so you want to make sure that you are staying on point with a consistent message. If you want to use this meditation for relaxation then you will want to create your script around the concept of relaxation.

Then it’s time for your setting. Using the example of relaxation, think of places that relax you (or, are most commonly thought of as relaxing). Such as a quiet beach, a meadow, or sitting under a tree. Using words create this setting so that you can clearly visualize the scene.

Use your five senses to help you with the setting. If you’re at a quiet beach, what can you hear? Waves, gulls, or maybe the flapping of your umbrella? Can you feel the sand? Describe the sand to make your meditation really expressive. Is there a breeze, would it make you feel cool or comforted? How bright is the sun? Are there clouds? I once participated in a meditation that gave out little bits of sunscreen for us to use as hand lotion. The setting was the beach and the guide wanted us to smell the experience. You really want to use descriptive words to create a script that paints an image of what you see in your mind’s eye.

How to Write Your Own Reiki Meditation Script

To begin your meditation, you want to use a breathing exercise to help with grounding, centering and focusing on the meditation. Allow pauses in your speech for those listening to your meditation to follow your guidance. If you ask them to lay comfortably, pause and allow them time to do so. You don’t want anyone feeling like they missed some of the meditation because they were moving around.

Then your script should turn back to your main message. Uplifting and inspirational words that help instill a sense of relaxation. Que participants to sense their bodies relaxing and to explore the muscles in this state. Ask them to breathe deeper. This is the bulk of your meditation script so explore the different ways that you can create a holistic whole body sense of your goal for this experience.

When you are nearing the end of your script you want to slowly bring back those that are meditating. Let them slowly feel their true surroundings. Ask them to gently bring awareness and movement to their toes and fingers. You want to create a soft awakening back to the moment of now.

Writing a script is like writing a story. There’s a theme, a setting, a message and descriptive words. There’s plenty of opportunity in a script for you to showcase your unique Reiki talents.
