The old religious ballad Dem Bones points out how all parts of the body are connected. So too, we like Dem Bones, are connected to all things in the universe. And since we are star stuff, we are connected to what is now called the multiverse, that is, parallel universes. Consequently, we have parallel lives. Some thinkers in the world of science postulate there are as many as ten dimensions and a rare few claims there are twelve.

Does Reiki work in such a scientific view and if so, how?
Consider what Reiki is. The word itself is Japanese. The first part of this Japanese word, Rei means “Universal Life” and the second part, Ki means “Energy.” Universal life energy dovetails with the fact that all things are energy— living and non-living. Parallel universes are energy based. There isn’t cause to believe Reiki would not be applicable in any of these universes. To suggest that it would not deny the fundamental scientific principle, all things are energy. And Reiki is energy!
Reiki working in a parallel universe is not as far-fetched as it might appear at first glance. Science fiction literature, as well as some of the seminal science thinkers of today, strongly believes that in some parallel universes we exist and not as doppelgängers. Reiki is energy and like all energy whenever there is an issue, there is an attempt to fill that gap or void. The use of Reiki might be swifter in a parallel universe. Consider this wonderful possibility: Instead of being transferred by the practitioners’ hands passing over a client’s body, Reiki might very well be mind activated and mind sent after a visual body scan. And that is not irrational. Think in terms of auras and chakras. Enoch Tan reminds us “The secret of anything is consciousness of that thing. Intention is the offspring of consciousness. When you are conscious of something, you are also intending it. What you intend is what you manifest.” You can manifest healing energy—Reiki healing energy—over distance whether it’s within this universe or a parallel one.
