Guru-Purnima is a special day to express gratitude to Guru for all the Divine guidance, unconditional love and blessings. Normally it is celebrated by Hindus and Buddhists on the first full moon day after the summer solstice. Buddhists celebrate in the honour of Gautama Buddha, who gave his first Sermon at Sarnath, India on this day and his disciples received enlightenment.
In general, Guru can be your any teacher, mentor, guide or master that provides insight of the subject through wisdom and understanding. Guru is a Sanskrit word derived from syllable Gu and Ru. Gu stands for Darkness and Ru stands for the light that dispels it. Full moon is called Purnima in Hindi.
Have you ever thought why we say Love and Light?
Guru is the one who takes us away from lack to love and darkness to light by imparting knowledge and teaching that eventually leads us to the path of Enlightenment. For me to describe the true essence of Guru is indefinable.
It is necessary to have faith in the knowledge & wisdom divulged by your Guide and also in yourself. I am sure there are many of us who may have witnessed body, mind & soul transformation after getting attuned to Reiki at different levels from our respective masters or guides. Astrologists believe, Guru Purnima is an occasion to enhance your possibilities of spiritual connections as cosmic energies are considered to be the most powerful during this time.
For this special day I would like to share a deep ritual which is close to my heart:
- Do Aura Brushing.
- Sit in a comfortable position (on earth, if possible) to stay connected with Mother Earth.
- Do a prayer and meditation.
- Start Reiki flow.
- Purify your hands with symbol 1.
- Draw all other Reiki symbols you are guided to on your palm chakras.
- Do Chakra balancing.
- You can visualise your Guru in front of you or you can keep their pictures or photos. Now we have to draw symbols between us.
- Draw Symbol 1 in air and say it thrice.
- Draw Symbol 3 in air and say it thrice. Feel the connection and say it silently “God in Me Greets God in You”
- Draw Symbol 2 in air and say it thrice. Feel the energy.
- Bring your hands towards Heart chakra with palm facing outwards or towards the photo or picture. Imagine that you are emanating your loving energy towards your Guru.
- We must open our hearts and thank for all the love and blessings we received. Thank for everything.
- Send a Reiki gratitude ball to all the gurus. ( I visualise a Heart Shape Reiki Ball in pink colour embossed with Golden Divine Reiki Symbols) .
- Light a candle ( anoint with Rose oil if possible) infused with Reiki Symbols to send the love and gratitude energy to your Guide. Imagine that your love and gratitude are transmitting continuously throughout while candle is lit.
- Do Bhumisparsha Mudra.
- Do prayer of thanks in Gassho position.
- Seal and Protect the session with the Power Symbol and Master Symbol (if you are attuned to it).
If the above ritual is not possible nothing to worry about; just send a Reiki Gratitude Ball to the universe and to your Guru to show your reverence. Universe will understand it all. Always believe Divine Universal Life Force Energy is with us and we have to merge into it to experience.
