Especially among beginner practitioners, there is a bit of misconception around Reiki and our goals and wishes. Specifically, people may end up thinking that it will help them with a particular situation, and in their opinion, there is a certain perfect desired outcome, but Reiki may be of a different opinion… 🙂
Let me ‘splain.
Case 1 🙂 Someone (let’s call them J.D. – for John or Jane Doe) is in love with another person, but that person doesn’t seem to respond the same way. So, they send Reiki to the situation, hoping that it will cause the person they have a crush on fall in love with them. That may happen sometimes, however, that’s not usually what happens… 🙂
What may happen is that Reiki will help J.D. realize the incompatibilities between them and the other person – and that happiness (as in true, genuine happiness for both of them) is not really possible. Another thing that may happen is that another person, who is an even better match, will show up in J.D.’s life. Or J.D. will come to realize that they don’t really love the other person, but they would like to be in a relationship with them for different reasons (social status, ego, etc).

Case 2 🙂 J.D. goes for a job interview. For a week now, they’ve been sending Reiki in advance to the whole situation, hoping they’ll get the job. Which may happen. But it may also not happen. If it doesn’t happen, usually it is because life has something better in store for J.D.
It may be that after the interview, J.D. decides that they’ve had enough of this career, and switch to an entirely different domain. Or start their own business, which will help them increase their contribution (and income 🙂 ) ten-fold.
Keep in mind 🙂 Whatever the outcome, Reiki will never harm anyone, and it always works for the highest good of all involved.

I liked the article you have posted. But in both the cases you seem to communicate that one would get what one desires or even better (of course with the realisation of the truth as you mentioned in case 1). Can it be a case wherein one might get something not up to the mark, for any reasons? If yes what kind of reasons they may be.

I read the article and comment by Sagar, may I weigh in? I’m WhiteRaven Reiki Master since 2010. Living things will always benefit from Reiki because it creates an opportunity for recipients to heal on all levels, as reflected in the Holistic model of Body, Mind, Spirit. If someone isn’t aware of their spiritual struggles, Reiki will enable you to be MORE aware of the problem so that you have an opportunity to address it and be freed of it; from the clients perspective this isn’t enjoyable,UNLESS they are aware that the current challenge laid out before them was at the reiki recipient’s direct request for healing in their ‘highest good’.
I think the outcome in scenario #1 has happened to me. I think I’ve been sent someone else.
