Much of the time, those of us who see ourselves as healers or people on a spiritual path begin to take life very seriously. Life can be pretty serious, for sure. But that isn’t all there is to life and it really isn’t as serious as we tend to make it. When we get on the spiritual path, we can sometimes feel an intense need to move forward, to understand and learn everything we can very quickly. We can get stuck analyzing why something is the way it is or what the ultimate meaning of things are. In the end, we just don’t know all the answers. And we don’t need to. We can only trust our intuition about what feels right and what feel wrong to us. Over analyzing sucks the joy out of life and keep us caught in our thoughts, unable to connect with our hearts and our intuition.
When we feel we aren’t safe or that we don’t deserve happiness, we tend to overanalyze. Instead of trusting our intuition, we over-rely on our logic to have all the answers. The logical mind is useful, but it will never have all the answers. It has to work with the intuition to function at its very best. You can envision the logical mind and the intuitive mind as a river and the river bed. The logical mind is the river bed, which directs the flow of the water. The intuitive mind is the river, the water itself. Without the river bed, the water has no direction and can cause havoc. Without the water, the river bed is dry, lifeless and empty.
Have you ever heard the phrase “lighten up?” When we are in joy, our spirits are light and at a high vibration. We can access our own spirit and our intuition more easily. We can understand what Higher Spirit, Holy Spirit is saying to us more easily in the state of joy as well. The more often we connect with Higher Spirit, the more our own spirit will lift in to a state of openness and we will feel joy. In that place, we can see most clearly and function at our very best. We make our best decisions and can most easily connect and communicate with others when we are in this state.
We could learn a lot by paying attention to the way children live. They don’t take life so seriously! That doesn’t mean they don’t feel things that upset them sometimes. Some of them are quite sensitive and feel things very deeply. But when something upsets a young child, they feel their feelings and then move on. They don’t dwell on what “should” be or spend time analyzing the ways of the world. That is an adult activity. A child alters their course as needed (or not) and they continue living. They stay connected to their true selves.
Of course, we have to mature and learn as we grow older. We leave behind most of the ways of children. But we can keep the things that are helpful. The things that keep us intact as spiritual beings and connect us to our souls and to the Divine/Holy Spirit. Stay lighthearted and open to joy. Be willing to laugh and not take life so seriously! It’s fine if you don’t have all the answers.
Try experimenting with letting yourself be OK with asking the Reiki energy and your Angels for help when you feel you need support. Ask them to remove any fear you have about turning it over to them and trusting. Then allow yourself to feel your heart opening. It will open a little more each time you do this. It feels like a spaciousness and an expansion in your chest that gently spreads through your body. Remember, you really must let go of the outcome. Fear, disbelief and pride/ego are both constrictions and block the pathways for you to receive.
You will be amazed at the support that presents itself to you when you do this and really open to it! Start with simple things that are easy to see, like help in finding lost objects.

I have always had a childlike quality and still do now in my 50’s. I still play on swing sets, to down slides, act silly. I say I never went through my second childhood because I never left the first one. My mother would get mad at me in my 20’s and tell me to act my age. One of the many things told to me, I did not listen to. 😉
Neither did I! I’d always said I would never grow up and I would always be the real me no matter what and I held onto that for 66 years!
