Rama symbol is one of the symbols of Karuna® Reiki. It means God or Lord Rama. To be able to use this symbol, one has to be attuned to Karuna® Reiki. This symbol has two right ticks on the right side and left side. There is a spiral in the middle. The two right ticks are considered to be male and female energy. The spiral in between these two right ticks represents the bonding between male and female energy. This symbol is best visualized in Golden or Purple color.
- Rama symbol symbolizes joy and happiness.
- It creates a direct link to earth energy hence helps in grounding. It helps in grounding in all directions.
- It helps cleanse all the six chakras- Brow Chakra, Throat Chakra, Heart Chakra, Solar-plexus Chakra, Sacral Chakra and Root Chakra.
- It revives person’s chi and creates determination.
- According to some practitioners, Archangel Michael’s presence has been felt when healing with Rama symbol, especially when ‘For The Highest Good of All’ is invoked.
- It helps clear lower chakras issues.
- This symbols can be used to manifest materialistic goals.
- Draw Rama symbol on feet chakra to open feet chakra. This will bring more energy, enhancing your healing by directly connecting to earth energy.
- Draw the symbol on crystals to cleanse and purify the crystals.
- It also harmonizes upper chakras with the lower chakras.
- Draw this symbol with SHK to bring peace and harmony.
- Brings responsibility. Heal the person with this symbol who is irresponsible to make him responsible. The Rama symbol has the energies of CKR and SHK both. It can be combined with CKR and SHK to optimize the effect of healing.
- Rama + Zonar + Halu heals lack of confidence.
- Helps remove negativity from house, office, shops or any work/play place.
- Draw the Rama symbol on walls, four corners and at the center. Give Reiki for about 3-5 minutes. It will clear-off negative energies. This symbol is very effective in removing negativity.
- It also helps with backache and emotional blockages by balancing the energies.
- The combination of Rama + Shanti + Gnosa is found effective for mental piece or unbalanced mind.
- Improves relationships- A never breaking bondage can be created if combined with SHK.

On the same lines, if i am not attuned to karuna reiki I cannot use this symbol and get benefited from it?
Some people may not agree with me and that is ok, but in my personal experience you can definitely use it without being attuned to Karuna Reiki. I’ve been using it for over a year now. I’ve never been attuned to Karuna Reiki. I can feel the energy flowing through my hands as I draw it. Especially when I do the spring down the center. Try it!!

I would think that this would be copyrighted info only available to Karuna Reiki Practitioners and Teachers (I am one). So am surprised to see it here.
Nothing more beautiful than to share with others. I am a Reiki-Karuna Master. It does not make ‘special’ just makes me be more aware of others feelings and share my humble light through what I know, learned. Who cares if this is copy right? Is the Cosmic copy right? The vital force? No offense anybody… Please! Just becouse some ‘knowledge’ does NOT makes us the owner of the Universe… Or the Wind, Water, Fire… Earth. Namaste.

I am a Reiki Master and have used this symbol for many years. There is no such thing as copyright on Reiki symbols of any form of Reiki. I have books with this in it.

I am the one that gave them to William Rand in exchange for the Tibetan symbols. The financial value of this exchange was $200.00 They were then called Sai Baba symbols, the missing symbols. The Sai Baba organization denied that those symbols were channeled through Sai Baba, William Rand decided to called them Karuna Reiki, created a 3 part program at an extremely high cost. William Rand made I would dare say in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. I understand your anger of seeing them offered freely after you paid nearly $2000.00 to get them.
William was always a genius of marketing. I always included them freely when I initiated my Master students. These are very powerful symbols, I am glad that they are out in public. Diane Stein also has them in her book. They make our treatments much more effecient.
And this entire discussion is a description of why the EGO gets in the way of true healing. When we live in a world where all are treated equitably, kindly, respectfully, and value is only on compassion, then no one needs to protect, hide, or make something only for some and not all. One day, money will not be the only source of value, I look forward to that world.

I agree. I’m also a Karuna Reiki Master and one of the commitments is to keep it confidential. Anyone can use the symbol provided that you have been attuned. The attunement does not mean property, but a commitment to growth, learning and discipline. Spirituality is very disciplined and does not allow channeling if the person is not ready for that. Maybe that’s why William Rand was chosen.
William Rand was not chosen. Many people had them and did not want to share them with him. I was not aware of this until I bartered them for the Tibetan symbols. Value $200.00. He in turn a marketing genius, transformed it into a 3 part course at a very high price for the students. Other Master then told me how they had refused to share them with him, I always regretted my barter with him. I always offer them for free for every Reiki Master that I initiate.

Since all the reiki is from one source why do we need more attunement after finishing master level of one particular style.
Attunements are like a preparation of your material body to receive new energy. It’s very fragile and needs some preparation and time to get used to the new energy flow. Each time of Reiki has its own frequency, so we need to get used to it.
Hello, I am a Usui Reiki Master and I am just learning that there are different variations of Reiki. Does one have to be re-attuned to use this symbol? Or can I attune someone with this symbol and they attune me back, since i’m already a master? I guess i’m confused if I’d need to pay to learn this modality, when i’d rather not, figuring how expensive classes can be. If anyone can answer my question i’d appreciate it! Thanks 🙂
You can initiate someone else and they in turn can initiate you, using the same attunement techniques.

Amazing!! Some people are ‘masters’ in this! Reiki, Karuna! Etc. and still full of ego! Oh dear!!! Attunment: yes!! Of course is needed! However , the INTENTIONS !! Meditation!! Alignment of the chakras!! Rid of EGO all of this helps ” channel VITAL FORCE” that is acquire through the Symbols!!! For example: when I was attune into Reiki: I was doing., channeling into others and “they all felt tremendous amount of energy moving”. Then, I got attuned … And there were NOT any difference in the “sensing energy” . I loooveeee to share EVERYTHING I know about REIKI, KARUNA, etc with people… “Specially to those with open hearts and ready to be ONE with the Light. When the student is ready… The Masters appear!! I Worked in a clinic that was at first free and later charged a nominal amount of $3.00 to $5.00 for treatments. I participated in this clinic for 10 years. It was open one night a week and we worked in groups of 3 to 5 practitioners to a recipent. I found that the more Reiki that I did the less ego I had in my relationhip to Reiki.
The building we used would be so full of Reiki energy and the unconditional love that it generated that sometimes when we closed (usually 11:00 or 12:00 PM) we would be a little surprised to find that the building was still firmly located on planet earth.
Recieving my initations was magical and the whole Reiki experience changed my life (for the better), changed my marriage (for the better) and altered the way I see life and the universe. I will always be greatful to Reiki for the difference it made in my life.

I am starting to think that many of these “New” Reiki symbols are just made up by people who teach Reiki to have something “special” to teach. When I was attuned to third degree in 1989 there were three symbols and there had been only three symbols taught up until that point. Now there seem bo be symbols appearing every week. Where are these symbols coming from. Channeling is just not reliable enough to change a healing system.

SHK stands for the 2nd Reiki symbol – Sei He Ki.
All the Reiki symbols are sometimes written this way: CKR – Cho Ku Rei, HSZSN – Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, or DKM – Dai Ko Myo.
